‘For the fans who believe the Bills will make the playoffs this season, this is exactly the kind of game they had in mind.’

‘I think the biggest thing is the Bills were physically dominate on the line of scrimmage both on offense and on defense. Not only did they open holes for C.J. Spiller, they were throwing the Chiefs all over the field led by rookie Cordy Glenn.’

‘How good are the Bills? I don’t know. How good are the Chiefs? How about the Jets? What about the rest of the teams on the Bills schedule? It’s still very early and therefore hard to say.’

‘Simply put, Spiller has been electric.’

‘I’ve always liked Spiller’s approach to the game, his patience and his drive. He proved last year that he could carry the load when Fred Jackson went down. After this start what’s left to prove?’

‘The former first-round pick from Clemson University is – in Bills defensive back George Wilson’s words – “a superstar in the making.” Hard to argue with that assessment after watching Spiller rush for 123 yards and two touchdowns and catch three passes for another 47 yards in a 35-17 rebound victory against the Chiefs.’

‘The Bills weren’t as bad as they appeared in Week One and neither was Fitz. The Bills aren’t as good as they appeared in Week Two, but I think the Fitz you saw is indeed the Ryan Fitzpatrick you can count on seeing more often than not. Buffalo’s back at .500, and I imagine that’s a mark fans will find familiar as the year goes on.’

‘Buffalo put together a very balanced effort with a solid run game led by C.J. Spiller’s 123 rushing yards and a pair of TDs, a defense that stuffed the run and got consistent pressure on Matt Cassel and two turnovers. The special teams unit helped as well putting points on the board in the return game.’

‘”We have to talk about Marcell and how happy we were to have him back,” said Williams. “We talked about it before the game. He’s going through a rough time, but he covered his responsibilities here and he always picks our team up and we were glad he was back. He’s got a long road in front of him with family issues and things like that, but played a good game and we’re happy to have him back and we’re here to support him.”‘

‘I just had great weeks of preparation. Our offense did a great job of covering these guys up. We knew coming into this game we had to be very decisive running. We had to put our foot down and getting what it takes. It all starts with preparation. I do the same thing every week; I read hard and run hard at practice. It really is just translating it on Sundays.’

‘On focusing on the run early on: That was a plan for this week. May not be next week but this was the plan this week. They were playing a defense that allowed us to have pretty good matchups in the run game out of certain personnel groups. We wanted to go take advantage of it, so that is what we did. I thought our guys were pretty physical coming off the football and we were able to establish the run game extremely well early in the ball game.’

‘There really wasn’t one play that turned this game around since the Bills dominated from the beginning.’

‘Chan Gailey realized Spiller was his best weapon and went to him early and often and that is why they blew out the Chiefs. Got the team to focus after tough loss. Nice rebound win.’

‘They’ve been mediocre. Erratic. Fitzpatrick and Cassel lead teams that need consistently competent play to achieve their playoff aspirations. Now they’re both coming off miserable opening-day performances and trying to avoid 0-2.’
