Spiller, Bills run past Chiefs

‘”We did such a good job up front keeping me clean and controlling the line of scrimmage,” said Fitzpatrick.’

Spiller dynamic again as Bills cruise to win

‘”I knew he could be,” Bills’ head coach Chan Gailey said on whether or not he thought Spiller would become a dynamic running back. “I did not know whether it would happen or not. I would like to tell you ‘oh sure I saw that,’ but it would be a lie. I did not see it happening like this. I knew it was capable of happening, but I did not know it would.”‘

Week two Bills report card

‘Chan Gailey turned things around and out-coached Kansas City. The game plan was smart and effective. There were a few times when the Bills’ defense wasn’t ready for the snap of the ball and gave up easy first downs, but that’s forgivable because it didn’t affect the game. Let’s see if Chan can beat some divisional opponents.’

Spiller rumbles for 123 yards in Bills win

‘”First and foremost, the honour goes to God,” Spiller told Sun Media. “And after that to the offensive line, wide receivers and tight ends. Those guys are blocking phenomenally. They’re hitting these guys up, and opening some big running lanes. And I’m just taking what they give me.”‘

Bills accuse Chiefs’ Hali of cheap shots

‘”I think I tripped or something and fell, so he thought I was trying to cut him,” Bills left guard Andy Levitre said. “And he tried to twist my neck. He took both of his arms and pinched them around my helmet and (twisted), so that got me going a little bit. So I reacted to that.”‘

Buffalo Bills wallop Kansas City Chiefs 35-17 in home opener

‘”Watching C.J. in the open field is a wonderful thing, getting those big chunks of yards,” said quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. “(It’s) his vision. He’s been very good at seeing cuts and just trusting himself. When C.J. gets in the open field, it’s tough to bring him down.”‘

Buffalo Bills Week 2 Report Card

‘The Bills were better prepared this week, but I still have a bone to pick with Chan Gailey. His play-calling was questionable at times. When the Bills came out for the second half, they ran three plays out of the shotgun. Two of the plays were incomplete passes and the other was a short gain. In basketball, if a player is shooting the ball well, you get him the ball. Today, Spiller was running well against the Chiefs. Why not give him one or two cracks at the Chiefs in that situation? It boggles my mind.’

Preparation putting Spiller in spotlight

‘”That’s my man,” Swinney said. “Year three is a big year for him. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have a great season.”‘

Spiller sparks Bills’ 35-17 rout over Chiefs

‘Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdown passes, including a 49-yarder to Stevie Johnson, and Leodis McKelvin scored on an 88-yard punt return-the second longest in team history-in the Bills’ home opener. Buffalo’s high-priced defense had five sacks and forced three turnovers as the Bills bounced back from a dreadful season-opening 48-28 loss at the New York Jets last week.’

Chiefs TE Boss to be re-evaluated for head injury

‘After catching a 29-yard pass from Matt Cassel, Boss was falling down when Buffalo’s Da’Norris Searcy’s forearm hit the back of Boss’ head. The receiver’s head then hit the ground hard.’

Chiefs’ Flowers returns for Kansas City

‘Buffalo is without running back Fred Jackson, who sustained a knee injury in last week’s loss to the New York Jets.’

Buffalo 35, Kansas City 17

‘Buffalo (1-1) was lit up for 48 points and 384 total yards by the Jets last week in a season-opening loss, but the defense was much better this Sunday as the unit totaled five sacks and two fumble recoveries before allowing a pair of 4th-quarter touchdowns in the win.’

Emotional win for Bills’ Dareus

‘”I felt like Buffalo fans are the greatest fans in the NFL. They support us when we’re down and we’re up; it doesn’t matter,” said Dareus. “They made me feel welcome today and I really enjoyed it and I really, really needed it.”‘

Bills Win Home Opener 35-17

‘The KC offense didn’t manage a touchdown until garbage time.’
