‘”Having that track guy label has been kind of a bad thing because people think I can only run fast straight,” Graham said. “But I’ve always considered myself someone who can run routes and I had to come out here and show it. There might be times when the routes aren’t as crisp, but everyone has those moments.”‘

‘”Camp was good, I really think we accomplished a great deal,” said Chan Gaily, Bills head coach. “We were able to evaluate a lot of players. I think our players got better. They had to fight through some hot days, some rainy days. It was good for us.”‘

‘The problem for Maybin has never been playing fast, though. His problems have based on poor technique and being too light. When the Bills released him, general manager Buddy Nix said he did not know if Maybin would fit into any system at the weight he was at (around 228 pounds). This offseason, Maybin has packed on the pounds. He reached 254 pounds before dropping down to 240 before camp.’

”’What I think it showed us, not just Trent at the time but everybody on this team, that coach Gailey has our back,” Wilson said. ”It might not seem like something major or big right now two years later, but I definitely think it set the tone.”’

‘Coach Chan Gailey had no immediate update except to say Heard was having tests. Gailey said backup offensive tackle James Carmon was also having tests after the undrafted rookie hurt his wrist.’

‘”It’s a little bit different,” head coach Chan Gailey said about the new rules. “We can only practice once a day. There’s no such thing as a two-a-day anymore, so it’s a little unique. Really the reason we’re out of here so early is the way the schedule fell. It just fell that way. It’s one of those things that it was great for us, but it’ll be good to get home, too.”‘

‘”We’re not a nation,” said Reid. “A nation has borders. Bills Mafia is everywhere. Really what we’ve done, is we call it our movement. ‘Tuesday night brought the final Buffalo Bills training camp practice open to fans. The weather cleared up just in time for the team to hit the field at St. John Fisher.’

‘”I think it takes time to build a rapport to work on things,” Smith told Buffalobills.com. “There are a lot of nuances to playing the quarterback position itself and then you add the Wildcat in and there are things you need to work on. And we are working on that.”‘

‘We took a couple of guys in for x-rays, (Kellen) Heard and (James) Carmon. We took those two guys in for some x-rays. We will see how those come out.’

‘”I think Coach DeHaven wants to see 70-percent, up there, but my goal is 100-percent,” he says. Potter was asked if a 70-percent touchback rate is a realistic goal."’
