‘”We’re thinking in that 10 play area,” said Gailey for his starters. “It might be a little bit more, it might be a little bit less but that’s what we’re thinking. If you’re going to put them out there for four plays, why are you going to put them out there? So you want them to be able to go out there and play enough to get a feel of the game and hit a little bit because it’ll be a while before they do it again.”‘

‘"He does everything you want him to do," Bills receivers coach Bob Bicknell said. "He’s a hard worker, a great kid. He knows what he’s supposed to do. He just needs the opportunity to play, he really does. He needs to get those chances to play the game. That’s kind of been his situation; it’s an uphill battle coming back from the time he’s missed."’

‘”This is the first offer I got and I jumped at it,” said Metzelaars, who had been an offensive line coach for half of his tenure in Indianapolis. “I was out of work about two weeks and it felt like about two months and you’re wondering what you’re going to do, where are we gonna live, what’s going to happen, and I’m glad things worked out here.”‘

”’What you have to look at when you’re making a decision like this is potential,” Gailey said, referring to Jackson. ”Do we think he can play in this system eventually, that’s the decision we’ll have to make. Because there’s not enough reps, there’s not going to be enough looks to make a clean decision.”’

‘”As long as we don’t go three and out, we can’t go three and out and we should be good. Hopefully it’s a scoring drive where we can get some extended play from that first series, but as far as three and out, I’d be expecting to go back in.” Chan Gailey said, “We’re thinking in that 10 play area, it might be a little bit more, it might be a little bit less. ‘”The organization, they’re going to do what they’re going to do,” said the quarterback. “For me, I can’t let that affect me. They have the decision they have to make in their mind, but for me I gotta go out there and handle my business and take care of myself.”‘

‘There are no excuses to explain away their ineffectiveness. Its the same offense and the third year for Fitzpatrick in that offense. The same play caller(Chan Gailey) who has a great working relationship with his quarterback. The same receivers are back so lack of chemistry can’t be an issue.’

‘”Terrence had a setback yesterday,” said Gailey following Tuesday’s practice. “His knee got a little weaker in practice yesterday so we’re sitting him and seeing where he goes looking into the future. He’s not going to play this week so we’ll have to see where that takes us.”‘

‘If it was a matter of Young struggling to learn the offense – he has been with the team since May – what makes them think Jackson can suddenly come in here with less than two weeks until the first regular season game and learn the offense?’
