‘Last year there were no OTA’s or mini camps due to the collective bargaining going on. Gailey said this year camp looks so much better, “I feel like we’re much more on the same page, we’ve got a lot more things ironed out, we’ve been able to add a few wrinkles that we think will help us down the line. I see us being a lot further ahead than we were last year.”‘

‘”Tomorrow is the start of camp,” said Head Coach Chan Gailey. “When you can put pads on, that starts camp. This other stuff is good and important. It helps us, but you really start to find out about your football team when you put pads on.”‘

‘On rookie LB Tank Carder having a nose for the ball: Yeah, he has gotten his hands on more passes defensively than maybe any other player to this point, which has been pretty impressive. It would be hard not to notice him on the field. He has a nose for the ball. He has some instincts. We will see when we get the pads on. Some guys do it better. Some guys do not do it as well. Some guys keep doing it just like they have been doing.’

‘You know it is not about talking anymore about what I can do or what happened in the past, or how good things were in the past. You just have to go out and do it. And that is all I have been concentrating on. It is not one of those things I really think about. It is just going out every day and working.’

‘”He exemplifies what what we want players to do and how we want them to be,” Nix said. “So that’s the reason he’s here."’

‘”Everywhere I go, especially in Buffalo, it’s ‘Hey how are you?’ It’s something I’m not really accustomed to. Fans are fans in general but when you go everywhere (even) just getting gas, it doesn’t matter, somebody’s going to come over to you and someone is going to say something to you. It’s definitely a big difference because this is Bills territory.’

‘”I love it,” Fitzpatrick said. “If I didn’t love it, I don’t think I would play the position of quarterback. That’s why we do it. I want all the pressure to fall on me so that the other guys can just go out there and play. Me being one of the older guys in the huddle, especially with our skill players, I love taking the pressure, because it takes it off them, and they’re just able to go out there and play. My shoulders are big enough for that.”‘

‘”Even in May I was up in the air. I’m definitely more encouraged,” he said. “I’d be lying if I threw a number or a guess out there (on how close he is to 100 percent). I can’t really tell. Some days feel better than others. But I have progressed these last couple months, and I’m happy about that.”‘
