‘"I like all the people in the organization, just from when you first walk in the door — I know everybody," he said. "I’m familiar with everybody and I’m comfortable. The snap and the hold with Garrison (Sanborn) coming back and Brian (Moorman) back — they’re as good as anybody in at what they do. I like the coaches and I just like the organization."’

‘”I’m excited about the opportunity here,” Metzelaars said. “I just heard good things about what they’re doing here, great things about Chan (Gailey), the type of man he is, the organization that he’s put together and that he’s running here.”‘

‘Lindell was re-signed before he was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next month. He returns for a 10th season in Buffalo, where he is the team’s second leading scorer with 878 career points. Lindell had played in 180 straight games before being sidelined by a season-ending shoulder injury in November.’

‘Lindell has made 262 of his 324 (80.9 percent) career field goal attempts.’

‘”It’s great. Like I said going into the offseason talking with coach and Buddy I want to win here,” Lindell told Buffalobills.com. “Obviously you want to win, but I want to win here. This place would go… it went crazy a couple of years back when we were 4-0 and then this year when we were 5-2. To win here I think would be really special so that’s something to look forward to.”‘

‘”You always entertain the thought,” said Metzelaars of returning to coach where he spent most of his days as a player. “You think it would be neat and fun to come back home a bit and coach in Buffalo. It’s been a whirlwind last week, but fun getting to renew a bunch of old acquaintances and contact a bunch of old friends and hopefully spend a lot of time with them over the next few years.”‘

‘I think they’re a team that started building in the draft. They missed on some draft picks in the past and it hurt them. When you miss on high draft picks it hurts you in the NFL. They’ve hit some recently and have continued to do so. I think they’re headed in the right direction. Everybody is very positive here and has good feelings about where the organization and the team are headed. They got off to the quick start last year and hit a bad patch and they want to build upon the good things that took place last year. I think the feeling amongst the coaches, the organization, and I think the players is that we are going to build upon the good things that we did last year and let’s go forward from here. I think it’s a very positive outlook on things that are taking place.’
