‘With just under two minutes remaining the Bills would recover the onside kick and take it in for a 34 yard field goal from Dave Rayner getting it to a one possession game 30-23. The ensuing onside kick was not successful though as Miami would recover with just over a minute left in the game.’

‘Plenty of blame can be tossed around. I’ll do my best to divvy properly.’

‘Fitzpatrick once again was off target on too many throws and made some bad decisions on others. I can wrap his struggles up in 2 third quarter plays. Dolphins qb Matt Moore threw a beautiful bomb to Brandon Marshall that he turned into a 65 yard TD. The throw was perfectly placed so Marshall didn’t have to break stride as Drayton Florence ran step for step with him. After that I tweeted that Fitzpatrick can’t make that throw. He’s missed a handful of deep passes to open receivers the last few weeks.’

‘They can’t use him as an every down back. He was having a great day today, one of the few he’s had in the NFL, but Gailey used him and Tashard Choice almost equally.’

‘Ryan Fitzpatrick just keeps getting worse and worse.’

‘At the end of the first half Buffalo looked as though they would pull to within a field goal. Down 13-7 with two seconds remaining a 22-yard catch by Stevie Johnson put Dave Rayner in position for a 26-yard field goal attempt. Rayner hooked it wide left at time expired leaving it a six-point deficit.’

There was a time when Cox seemed to be the only tangible evidence of the old rivalry. This is like an ember sparking into flames.
