‘”I really don’t know, you have to ask somebody upstairs,” said Levitre about what led to the move. “It’s their decision. They told us we were going to be rotating this week and I don’t know what their long-term plan is. They said they want to see us compete and I guess that’s what is going to be.”‘

‘”I don’t want my guys to say, ‘I have to look up to Stevie, I have to do this like he does it,’ ” Johnson said. “No, I want you to do it your way but watch how I do it and build on it your way. We all have something to prove so why not take this as a huge opportunity and make something of it.”‘

‘”He’s a couple of weeks, three weeks away,” Gailey said. “He got rolled up on pretty good so he’s going to be out a while.”‘

‘It’s one of the most redeeming qualities Gailey possesses, his willingness to try new things and not stick with the status quo. The fact that Levitre was the player demoted, and not right guard Kraig Urbik, who seems to be struggling, came as an eye-opener, particularly to Levitre.’

‘”I wouldn’t say I’m surprised,” Rinehart stated. “I felt like I’m holding my own during practice. I thought after last year I showed them I’m very capable as a starter so I just felt it was a matter of time. And when my opportunity came I need to make the most of it.”‘

‘”Chad has played pretty well during camp, and he’s earned the right to compete for the job on a little bit more equal basis,” Gailey said. “We’ll give him a shot and see how it plays out. Now is the time to give a guy a chance if he’s earned it.”‘
