Levitre grows into job

‘"You got to do what you’ve got to do to get the job done," he said with a sheepish grin. "It’s all about being aggressive, getting guys on the ground, throwing guys off balance."’

Keeping the faith in 3-4 is good for Chiefs

‘"As I grew up through this league as an offensive coach, I always in my mind thought preparing for a 3-4 was a little more difficult," he told the Buffalo media during a conference call this week. "The more I talked to people and learned about this game and learned about defense, the more sure I was of how I wanted to play defense if I ever got an opportunity like I have here."’

Possession is key when ruling on ball thrown to end zone

‘Corner’s non-interception was a byproduct of the rule passed in 2008 that said there are no force-outs. A player must come down with both feet inbounds, regardless of being pushed by an opponent. The rule, however, also states that a player can’t be picked up in the air and carried out of bounds. In that case, a force-out still applies. But on the Corner play, when the Ravens’ Anquan Boldin wrapped up Corner and fell out of bounds with him, it wasn’t an unnatural act. Boldin didn’t take any extra steps to "carry" him.’

Buffalo (0-6) at Kansas City (4-2)

Chiefs plan encouraging for Bills future

‘”They hadn’t been to the playoffs for a while and they were trying to change some mindsets,” said Bills head coach Chan Gailey. “That was one of the biggest challenges. They’ve done a good job of getting their team to where it is today. We’ve got that same challenge to turn the mindset around and to have an opportunity to go win a championship.”‘
