Bills’ defense aiming to disrupt Rodgers

‘”About every other sentence, every other word was ‘Aaron Rodgers,'” Bills safety George Wilson said. “We know he’s the pulse of their team, the pulse of their offense. And we have to do a great job of keeping them off balance, not really allowing him to get in a groove.”‘

Packers Rewind: ’65 Packers vs. AFL Champ Bills

‘”I think everybody on the Buffalo Bills football team would say the same thing, ‘Hell yeah, we’d beat ’em.’ But that’s in our hearts.”‘

Torell Troup Always a Knight at Heart

‘“The biggest difference is that everybody is better on this level and it’s hard to find a weak link. You have to take a mindset at practice like it’s a game because you don’t want to get embarrassed,” Troup said. “At first I felt the pressure, but once I got there and talked to everyone and they told me about the expectations, some of the pressure kind of backed off. Some of the older guys have really helped me make the transition, so that’s been nice.”’

Buffalo Bills tailgater convinced to stay

‘”They gave me the hard-press,” Johnson said, of the conversation he had with Christopher Clark, the Bills director of security. Johnson said he received the call Friday, as he was driving to Green Bay for the Bills’ game against the Packers on Sunday. “It was a good conversation, and very professional.”‘

Ayodele set to pitch in

‘”You never relish anybody getting hurt,” said Ayodele. “This is a game of brotherhood and we understand how hard we work, but this is an opportunity to get on the field and make some plays.”‘

For Bills, getting back on track tough against the Pack

‘One way Buffalo can have success against Green Bay is to put pressure on quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has spent plenty of time the last two seasons running for his life behind a suspect offensive line. Rodgers was sacked 50 times last year. He is already on a similar pace for this season after getting sacked three times against the Eagles.’

Buffalo Bills like what they see in David Nelson

‘"I’m a football junkie and I’ve been to some NFL games and I know how the NFL atmosphere can be," Nelson said. "I played in front of some hostile crowds in college, and in some really big games, but just not at this level of playing. To be able to play against this caliber of players and also have the fans going crazy, it was an unbelievable experience."’

DeHaven’s return is off to solid start

‘"From my first meeting with Coach DeHaven, he’s come in telling us he’s not going to try to be Bobby, he’s not going to come in [and] try to coach like him and do some of the things that he did," said safety George Wilson, who co-captains special teams with punter Brian Moorman. "He let us know that he was knowledgeable of what we accomplished here in the special team phase. But we have to put that behind us and start a new chapter under him."’

Offense must keep track of Matthews

‘”He is an excellent pass rusher,” Bills coach Chan Gailey said of Matthews, who made the Pro Bowl as a rookie last season. “He’s not just an excellent pass rusher, he’s an excellent football player. You’ve got to have a plan for him because he’s good enough to warrant that. We’ll try to make sure that we either have people sliding to him or people around him or something to help us a little bit from time to time.”‘

Thomas dismisses claims of Paladino being racist

‘”Carl Paladino will be a governor for all New Yorkers,” the Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills running back said in a YouTube video the Paladino campaign posted Friday.’

Buffalo Bills’ futility on third down contributes to losing ways

‘That the Bills fell to such a low is a bit unusual in and of itself. Of the nearly one thousand teams that have taken to the field since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978, only 32 have finished with a third-down conversion rate below 30 percent.’
