‘Modrak’s influence has significantly diminished with the hiring of Buddy Nix as general manager. Assistant GM Doug Whaley oversees all pro scouting and assists Nix in the overall football operation. Nix pulls the names off the draft board. Nix also hired long-time associate Darrell Moody as the Bills’ scout in the Southeast, the most important region of the country. Modrak still holds the title of vice president of college scouting and still scouts nationwide.’
