‘Jets 24, Bills 14.’

‘Buffalo did get some good news when head coach Chan Gailey said linebacker Paul Posluszny will rejoin the lineup after missing the last two games with a mild knee sprain.’

‘”Andra Davis was out (Thursday) and his shoulder that he banged up is not coming around as quickly as we had hoped so he’s going to be out for this ball game,” said Gailey. “And Marcus Stroud with his ankle is not going to make it either.”‘

‘Without discussing the nature of the injuries, coach Chan Gailey delivered the news after both players missed practice on Thursday. Stroud hurt his left ankle in a 38-30 loss at New England last weekend, while Davis has an injured shoulder.’

‘”Yeah, just because it kind of blew up a little bit, but when I made that comment it was after I already cleared waivers,” said Brown. “It wasn’t right after I got cut. I was making it just kind of the general situation that no teams had called and that no team across the league called for a practice squad invite.”‘

‘The Bills were bidding against themselves for Kelsay, who never made his desire for more money and years known. After three games where he was basically invisible was enough for the Bills to reward Kelsay with financial security and the opportunity to retire with the team that drafted him.’

‘”I understand the spotlight and all that stuff. But I’m not here trying to impress one person or anything like that,” Maybin said. “Whatever my coaches ask me to do, I’m going to do it to the best of my abilities.”‘

‘It’s a Buffalo thing – you wouldn’t understand.’

‘Jets 23, Bills 16.’

‘”He’s not one of these guys that does a whole bunch of talking; he lets his play speak for him and that’s the best thing you want from a player,” Wilson said. “You don’t want somebody who’s always (just) a happy-go-lucky guy or a rah-rah guy when everything’s going good, but Lee handles the good (and) the bad, and treats them both the same.”‘

‘"There’s no question about it, I’m thrilled," said the 30-year-old Kelsay. "I want to end my career here, and this gives me an opportunity to do that. Obviously it still comes down to production and putting it out on the field. But it’s a step I was willing to take, and they were willing to take, more than that."’

‘Naturally, Maybin isn’t solely to blame for the Bills’ continued woes. But in his brief time in Buffalo, he is rapidly becoming a shining example of what is wrong with the Buffalo franchise because he appears to be the latest in a too-long line of egregious first-round draft whiffs.’

‘"Aaron’s one of the guys that has to continue to improve," coach Chan Gailey said. "He needs to be a pass-rush threat for us. We’ve got to get him to stay strong the whole game. He rushed better the first half than he did the second half. Hopefully he stays strong and rushes better in the second half of games. You should be getting stronger as games go on."’

‘"There isn’t one specific answer," said free safety Jairus Byrd, who tied for the league lead with nine picks last year as a rookie. "I wish I could tell you. It’s a lot of things. There’s communicating, getting people in the right places."’
