‘In providing few details on the status of discussions, Nix told a group of reporters after practice Tuesday that he’ll have more to say if Spiller isn’t signed in what he calls “a couple of days.”‘

‘”This is the first time I’ve had to come through this kind of adversity,” Hardy said. “It’s been hard, but, at the same time, things happen. You just have to adjust to them. Getting on-the-field reps and mental reps are two totally different things. Now that I’m back out here with the guys, I feel I’m getting better each and every practice.”‘

On Monday, Jacksonville finalized its deal with 10th overall pick Tyson Alualu. He agreed to a five-year deal worth $28 million with $17.5 million guaranteed. The No. 8 pick, Oakland’s Rolando McClain, has been done for awhile. He got five years and $40 million with $23 million guaranteed. As of Monday night, 28 of 32 first-round picks had signed.’

‘”We work on it every day,” Gailey said after a recent training camp practice at St. John Fisher College. “I make it a point every day. I don’t have any magic wand. I don’t have pixie dust. … Guys generally respond to things you make a point of emphasis of.”‘

‘Coach Chan Gailey provided no details of the injury after practice Monday, except to say doctors will determine within a day whether surgery is required. Hurt a day earlier, Wang watched practice with a wrap around his lower right leg.’

‘”Ed has something that they may have to operate on and it might take him out for quite a few weeks,” said Gailey. “We’ll have to wait and see what the doctors say about that. That decision will be made tomorrow.”‘
