‘Without providing any details of the injury, coach Chan Gailey says Kelsay “will be out a little while,” but didn’t know for how long.’

‘Zero: That’s how many Super Bowl wins the Bills have, and even though training camp is a time when hope springs eternal, the chances of the Bills winning this year’s Super Bowl are zilch (but we hope they prove us wrong).’

‘”After evaluating all of the OTA and minicamp things we felt like Trent deserved to start the training camp with the first group and we’ll have the other two guys, (Ryan) Fitz(patrick) and Brian (Brohm) alternating with the twos during the course of the first few weeks here,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “And then we’ll get Levi (Brown) as many reps as we can get him.”‘

‘Edwards had a majority of practice time in the first 45 minutes of the Bills first practice Thursday, and opened each of the individual drills by taking the first snap. Coach Chan Gailey said last month he intended to open camp by establishing a pecking order after providing his three quarterbacks equal time during the team’s offseason minicamps.’

‘The team also placed safety Jon Corto (broken wrist) and linebacker Nic Harris (knee) on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. They can be activated for practice once healthy.’

‘Schobel’s designation removes him from the active roster so he does not count toward the 80-man roster limit.’

‘”It’s a lot of fun,” Bromley said. “You get to see the team before the start of the season, it’s not an opportunity you have that often. A lot of times the players come over and talk with you. They make the experience more enjoyable.”‘

‘”Every coach is different, obviously, but there is a sense of a new beginning this year,” said Chris Kelsay, who is on his fifth coach in eight years with the Bills. “Coach (Chan) Gailey and his staff, I believe, bring more of a disciplinary feel to, not only the meeting rooms, the practice field, obviously, but the entire atmosphere around the organization. I think that’s what we need.”‘

‘"There’s a reason that first-rounders are signed about the same time, so it’s not unusual," General Manager Buddy Nix said Wednesday, alluding to the fact that the domino slotting has to start taking shape. "We hold out hope that he’ll be here when we start the first day at 3 tomorrow."’

‘"Not one bit," Nix said. "The only way I find out is when I read the paper. I have no idea what his change of heart is. He doesn’t have to be here until 7 in the morning (today), and if he’s not here, then he’s late. If he comes, fine. If he doesn’t, then fine. It’s up to him. He’s a good football player and we’d like to have him."’
