‘The Bills-Bears contest is part of a 5-year, $78 million deal bringing NFL football to the Rogers Centre.’

‘My gut tells me the Bills will take the linebacker McClain and hope he is a natural in the 3-4 defense. The Bills should still be expected to grab a quarterback and left tackle later on, and those will be the choices where Nix, Gailey, and the scouting department will truly be tested.’

‘The Buffalo Bills are announcing that the Bills Toronto Series 2010 regular season opponent will be the Chicago Bears. The Bills-Bears game will be played on November 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre.’

‘It wasn’t so much that Gailey is a bad coach, a bad choice, as his resume is stocked with winning teams and winning programs. It was more the fact that the Bills fans believed they would finally land a big fish, were due to land a big prize, a Mike Shanahan, a Bill Cowher, to lead them back to the promised land.’

‘Right now the biggest obstacle to generating interest in the series is the Bills themselves, a team that is again a work in progress under new head coach Chan Gailey. Which is why no one should be surprised if, for the first time, the Bills are playing in Toronto during the CFL season, instead of in December as they have in each of the past two years.’

‘Edwards then discussed the importance of physical fitness, decried bullying and answered five selected questions from students during an unscripted address to the student body. “Remember the golden rule,” Edwards said. “Treat others the way you want to be treated.”‘

‘In the past seven seasons, the club has finished in the league’s bottom six in passing six times. Not surprisingly, the best they’ve ranked in total offense in that span is 25th. What they’re doing isn’t working, yet they won’t bother to change.’

‘”It’s a slow process,” Nix said. “We’ve got nine picks. We need to hit on all nine, and that’s hard to do sometimes. We’ve got holes to fill.”‘

The 2010 draft will be interesting to watch from a Bills perspective for the fact that there is a new regime. Most fans still don’t know what to think of the duo of Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey but these are the men at the controls and they will look to take the players that will help the Bills build a winner from the ground up. They won’t admit it is a full fledge rebuilding project but it is and rebuilding starts with the draft.

‘Based on sheer volume and the quality of the slots in the draft, New England figures to get the AFC East’s biggest talent boost in the draft, with Buffalo edging Miami for second-best. That’s assuming the Bills don’t mess up.’

‘Yet Bills General Manager Buddy Nix went out of his way this week to say the Bills would not reach to fill a need position at the top of the NFL draft.’

‘If the Bills select Clausen, you can expect unhappiness from bloggers and letters-to-the-editor writers. On the other hand, weren’t the same sort of warnings sent up when Jim Kelly came out of the University of Miami? Didn’t Kelly originally spurn Buffalo for Houston of the long-interred U.S. Football League? Yet didn’t things turn out pretty well in the end?’

‘Leo: I think we can agree on the Bills’ biggest needs to address next weekend as they spin the college draft roulette wheel. Sal: We sure can – they need everything.’

‘”I was playing Mary J. Blige’s boyfriend,” Wilson said. “(In the video), I came home late and I was in trouble, and I’m trying to explain myself and apologize for coming in too late. She’s not trying to hear me. I told her I was out with friends, and I was trying to make sure they were OK.”‘
