‘The interesting thing going into this game was to see if the aggressiveness of Perry Fewell was going to continue this week. Many times during this game, he showed that he is a lot different than Dick Jauron. The Bills delivered Fewell his first career win as a head coach as they took the game away from Miami in the fourth quarter by scoring 24 points, and coming away with a 31-14 victory.’

‘You want to know why Ryan Fitzpatrick is in for Trent Edwards? Look no further than the game-clinching touchdown drive. If Edwards is under center, he’s not going to audible into a 51-yard touchdown pass to Owens.’

‘The move, announced Tuesday, allowed the Bills to fill an open spot after promoting defensive lineman Corey Mace off their practice squad last weekend.’

‘Duncan (6’2″ 315) was an undrafted rookie free agent signing of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last May. He did not make the 53-man roster, but was signed to the club’s practice squad to start the season. He also has spent time on the Carolina Panthers practice squad.’

‘”Because the fourth quarter has been an issue for us this year it was nice to kind of put our stamp on that game and keep pushing throughout the whole fourth quarter.”‘

‘”I found out (Saturday) night and I just wanted to take advantage of the opportunity and I was definitely given my share of touches and I wanted to make as many plays as possible for this team,” said Jackson. “I felt like the more plays I can make the better it’s going to help our team to go out and get a win.”‘

‘”That is starting to become an average number of arrests now,” Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew D. Benz said.’

‘"Any player is going to want the ball," said Jackson, who signed a three-year, $3 million deal in the offseason to stay in Buffalo when he had a chance to leave as a restricted free agent. "We need two running backs and he needs to get started and he needs his carries. I know he’s the feature back and that’s who they want to try to get rolling, but yeah, anybody in my situation wants the ball. You want to help the team as much as possible."’

‘Perry Fewell showed more daring in one quarter than Dick Jauron often showed in entire years. His decision to have Lindell attempt the 56-yard field goal was a huge gamble that paid off, and he also signed off on a first-down pass play after Florence’s interception with 2:31 to go. Fitzpatrick then audibled to a deep pass and the result was a clinching TD strike to Owens. He was aggressive, and he showed faith in his players. Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt is doing his best to call plays with an offensive line that just can’t get much done. The decision to go with Fred Jackson over Marshawn Lynch was wise.’

‘Owens had 26 catches for 366 yards and one TD in the nine games Jauron coached, but he has 14 catches for 293 and two TDs in the two games Fewell has been the head coach. Of course, the other key factor is that Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the quarterback the last two games and has targeted Owens 19 times.’

‘Fewell’s got a shot at making it impossible for Wilson to ignore him when it comes time to hiring a coach for 2010.’

‘"I found out last night (that he was starting) and I just wanted to take advantage of the opportunity," said Jackson on Sunday. ‘I like the way the Bills have played in their first two games for interim coach Perry Fewell and fully expect them to win Thursday night. But with a makeshift offensive line, nothing is guaranteed.’

‘SS George Wilson was effective blitzing off the edge and tripping up Williams on a few occasions. On one third quarter play, DT Spencer Johnson got penetration that forced Williams to hesitate. Wilson shot through to make the tackle for no gain.’

‘Brandon will essentially be searching for his own replacement (and yes, you need permission to talk to personnel men who are currently employed). That doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. Maybe they should hire a search firm to help in the process. College and NFL programs have done it before.’
