‘Mace spent the first 11 weeks of the season on the Bills’ practice squad. The 6-foot-3, 287-pound Mace joined Buffalo in May 2007 as an undrafted free agent and spent parts of the 2007 and 2008 season on the team’s practice squad. He played in three games last season after being added to the roster in early December.’

‘To make room for Mace on the active roster, the Bills released tight end Joe Klopfenstein. Klopfenstein was signed just last week when Derek Fine was placed on injured reserve.’

‘"I was geared up when I was 8 playing flag football, so being able to now play it on the highest level that you can play it on, how can you not be fired up to get out there and play?" Porter said this week on a conference call with Buffalo media. "This is your livelihood. Everybody dreamed to be here when they were a kid. For having the opportunity to do it, I feel you can’t cheat a day, not one day that you’re out there."’

‘Stroud, who missed last week’s game at Jacksonville with a sore knee, was able to practice on a limited basis Friday. He’s listed as questionable.’

‘The Bills’ 18-15 loss to Jacksonville had a 26.9 rating on WIVB-TV, making it the season’s lowest-rated Bills game. The previous low was a 27.3 for a loss to Tennessee after the bye week.’

‘”I mean, look at him, he’s a physical freak,” Dolphins rookie cornerback Sean Smith said. “There’s not a lot of wide receivers out there 6-3 and built the way he is. He’s built to last the whole year without slowing down at all.”‘

‘”I’m sure the talk in their locker room is they’ve beaten themselves,” Torbor said. “They’ve been in almost every game and found ways to lose. It’s not like they’re not competing, and they got T.O. going last week. So they’ve got some positives they can look at.”‘
