‘Langston Walker vs. Demetrius Bell at left tackle. There are those inside the Bills’ hierarchy that believe the more athletic Bell would be a wiser choice to start the season opener at New England over the more experienced Walker. Bell, a seventh-round pick in 2008, was making huge strides until suffering a back injury last Monday. He should be back at practice this week. Walker didn’t help his cause against Pittsburgh, struggling to block NFL Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison and picking up a holding call.’

‘Backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick on whether Trent Edwards’ confidence is lacking: “I think he’s fine. He’s a very confident guy. He’s a good quarterback. We’ve had our share of problems on the offense as a whole – it’s not one guy, obviously. I don’t know how much he’ll play next week, but we’re going to come out firing. Getting Terrell (Owens) back, I’m sure that’s going to give us some confidence and help in coming out firing Monday night (at New England on Sept. 14).”‘

‘The game will air on a tape-delayed basis on the official Buffalo Bills television station, WKBW-TV in Buffalo, Friday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m. WHAM-TV in Rochester will air the game on Saturday, September 5th at 8:00 p.m. WTVH-TV in Syracuse will air the game on Saturday, September 5th at 6:00 p.m.’

‘Owens later admitted his toe issue was a result of the type of shoe he was wearing, and not the result of any misstep or physical contact. As a result, he is ready to play if head coach Dick Jauron lets him, in the Bills’ preseason finale on Thursday against Detroit.’

‘Paul Posluszny didn’t practice due to stiches in his jaw. Lee Evans sat out because Dick Jauron said they wanted to save the wear and tear on his legs. Others out included Demetrius Bell, Derek Fine, Copeland Bryan, Drayton Florence, Lydell Sargeant, Travis McCall and James Hardy.’
