‘Cornerback Leodis McKelvin (broken leg) and safeties Donte Whitner (thumb) and Bryan Scott (high ankle sprain) missed practice Wednesday after they were hurt in a 27-7 loss against New Orleans last weekend. Also missing practice were starting defensive tackle Kyle Williams and starting offensive tackle Demetrius Bell, who are both nursing groin injuries.’

‘”We’ll take more shots,” Jauron said. “We definitely have to get him more involved in the game no matter what the defense does.”‘

‘”I think we need to throw enough deep balls to win,” said Edwards. “I don’t know what that recipe is. I don’t know how often, but it’s part of the territory. You kind of have to pick and choose your spots and hopefully that leads to a win.”‘

‘"I was brought here to play so I’m excited about the opportunity, and I’m going to make the best of it," Byrd said.’

‘”Ryan made a great play on it and stayed in bounds and got into the end zone,” Moorman said. “After I picked myself up off the ground, I was able to see him get in the end zone. It was a great call and the guys on the team executed it well and it was a success. Any time you can do that and help your team create momentum, then that’s a positive.”‘

‘In hindsight it may not have been such a great idea to by that Terrell Owens jersey. Probably an even worse idea to get the T.O. throwback, but can you blame a guy for thinking our newest wideout would someday rank with the all-time greats in Buffalo Bills history, bound for the Bills Wall of Fame on the way to his enshrinement in Canton?’

‘Court spokesman Ed Ferenc said the judge has not yet been asked to put Whitner in the program, just to see if he qualifies.’
