‘”It was just the right situation for me,” Hangartner said last week after a practice during Bills training camp at St. John Fisher College. “I really like the young playmakers that we have here. I felt like it was a great fit. If we can protect and make some holes, we should have some big success.”‘

‘”Now that he’s here I plan to pick his brain as much as possible,” Hardy said. “He said that the way that I am right now is exactly how he was with Jerry Rice 13 years ago (with the San Francisco 49ers). So, I know I’m on the right track and I’m going to keep going.”‘

‘"It felt good being out there with the starters," Bell said. "Since the game was over I’ve been going over and over each play in my head and thinking what I could have done better. I’m always tough on myself, but I’m encouraged. I think I’m headed in the right direction."’

‘The Bills will likely be very cautious with Owens because bringing him back too soon could make the injury worse. A sprained toe does not require surgery, but rehabilitation calls for rest, ice treatments, elevation and sometimes anti-inflammatory medication.’

‘Owens’ condition was updated following the team’s evening practice by head coach Dick Jauron, who indicated the controversial star is day-to-day.’

‘”This Crabtree kid is putting people in this predicament,” Arrington said. “I just think people’s hands are tied until this guy gets around to doing what he’s going to do.”‘

‘Gaddis (6’1″ 300) is familiar to Buffalo’s offensive staff. He spent the 2007 season with the club, first as a member of the team’s practice squad before being called up to the active roster for the last seven weeks of the regular season that year.’

‘”Terrell Owens will not participate in tonight’s practice due to a sprained toe. I will address his status in more detail following tonight’s practice session.”‘

‘”He’s been excused,” said Jauron. “I’ll address it further tonight.”‘

‘”It is good to get the cob webs out,” Edwards said. “We had it going on that first drive. We were throwing the ball around a little bit, we just can’t turn the ball over and that is the bottom line.”‘
