‘Trent Edwards made two crucial turnovers in the first quarter with a fumble and a 91 yard interception return for a touchdown. The two turnovers gave the Jets 10 of their 13 first quarter points. He’s got to feel the blitz on the play that resulted in the early fumble. He did a nice job in play action on the opening 42 yard screen pass. He showed strength in getting away from a defender to throw a pass that resulted in a first down pass interference penalty. He seemed to be unsteady in the pocket and threw a second interception for good measure late. He had a career high 289 yards but that is because they were playing from behind. Grade F: He wanted to get the bad taste out of his mouth from the Miami game but now he’ll need plenty of mouthwash.’

‘Quarterback Trent Edwards turned the ball over three times over the course of the game, once on a fumble and twice on interceptions that took away valuable opportunities for Buffalo. The worst of the three occurred at the end of the first quarter, when Jets safety Abram Elam read Edwards’ eyes and returned an interception 92 yards for the touchdown.’

‘Buffalo got off to a fast start but the Jets took control of the game by making only a few mistakes and playing a mentally superior game as they wore down the Bills to gain the victory. The Bills turned the ball over twice in the first quarter including giving up a defensive score of their own. They failed on a few gambles as well as not much went their way just like last week in Miami.’

‘Trent Edwards was picked off twice and threw for 289 yards while completing 24-of-35 passes with a touchdown for Buffalo, which has lost two in a row — both within the division. The Bills lost to Miami last week and will try to avoid an 0-3 start within the AFC East next week when they visit New England.’

‘Buffalo (5-3) has lost three of four and lost all the momentum it had generated following a 4-0 start.’

‘Turk Schonert’s unit went 1-for-4 in the red zone and committed two turnovers, one inside their own 10-yard line and one that was returned for a score. The Bills running game was completely shut down by New York’s fourth-ranked run defense gaining just 30 yards on 17 carries. Trent Edwards finished the game 24-34 for 289 yards a touchdown and an interception.’
