‘DT Marcus Stroud, who played on several playoff teams in Jacksonville, isn’t one to press the panic button. Buffalo has dropped consecutive games to the Dolphins and Jets, losses magnified in meaning because they were to division rivals. “Even though we lost two division games, I like us to be at 5-3 and there are still eight games left in the season,”‘ Stroud said. “It is a long season and by most of the accounts you guys didn’t have us picked to be this good. According to your all standards, we are doing pretty well. Now we have to continue to get better by our standards. Right now, that is the only thing that counts – the guys in that locker room and how we feel. We feel like we still have a chance to go out and play good football and win games.”‘

‘”Losing the last two games is hard. There’s nowhere to hide,” cornerback Jabari Greer said. “No matter what we’ve done before, having that two-game losing streak, the taste in your mouth can easily become something if that’s not corrected. It can change the whole mind-set of the season.”‘

‘Well, the mood was a lot better from everybody including myself when we went 4-0, but the fact is you’ve got to take every week as it’s presented to you. We’ve got to take the 5-3 record and move on. We know this is just a huge game for us coming up.’

‘We’ve been getting beat on a couple different plays. I’ve made some skeptical decisions and [we’ve] faced some solid defensive schemes. [Those] are really the three things that have caused those [turnovers]. We weren’t making those mistakes early in the season and that’s why we were going in that direction. Now we are going in the other direction because of making those mistakes and those turnovers. Like you eluded to before there’s not really…you don’t know how to fix them you just try to make sure that you’re prepared for them and don’t do them again.’

‘"We’re in a situation now where we’ve kind of gotten to that point," Evans said after practice Wednesday. "And now we’ve got to pull ourselves out of it. We certainly have the people on this team to do it, and the character on this team to do it, so it’s just a matter of doing it."’
