‘Their top running back, Marshawn Lynch, has yet to break 100 yards in a game. The team is minus-5 in the turnover department for the season, and have been “out-sacked” 23-13. The Bills have scored only two more touchdowns than their foes, outscored them by only 13 points, and their quarterback has thrown only six TDs to five interceptions. Looking at it that way, perhaps the Bills are just overachieving.’

‘Running back Marshawn Lynch missed the entire second quarter of Buffalo’s 26-17 loss to the New York Jets due to nausea. And speaking of nauseated, that’s the general feeling fans have been getting watching the Bills try to run the football lately — with or without Lynch on the field.’

‘For the second week in a row, the Buffalo staff was out-coached.’

‘After doing an excellent job of protecting the ball early in the season, QB Trent Edwards has had problems the last couple of weeks. In the loss at Miami, he threw an interception and fumbled twice, one resulting in a safety. In the loss to the Jets, he had two interceptions and another lost fumble. In the first six games of the season, Edwards had only two fumbles and two picks. “There could be a lot of fingers pointed after these past two games, and the only finger I’m pointing is at myself,” Edwards said. “The most critical thing for me to do is improve my game.”‘

‘Favre engineered a 14-play drive in the Jets’ 26-17 win Sunday that melted 8 minutes, 41 seconds off the clock and made it a two-possession game again on Jay Feely’s 31-yard field goal.’

‘This was a bad loss … there’s no other way to couch it.’

‘It wasn’t just that potential 10-point swing, it was the way the air came out of the sold-out stadium on that play.’

‘Favre finished 19-of-28 for 201 yards, no touchdowns, his league-leading 12th interception of the season and a very pedestrian rating of 73.7, but he was efficient enough when the visiting Jets needed him to be.’

‘Buffalo’s lone takeaway was cornerback Jabari Greer’s interception and 42-yard return for a touchdown. It was Greer’s second pick of the season, tying him with Terrence McGee for the team lead. Greer also became the first Bill to return two interceptions for a TD in the same season since Takeo Spikes in 2004. Greer had a 33-yarder for a TD at St. Louis earlier this season.’

‘The Bills are a work in progress, and it may get worse before it gets better. Brace yourselves. The 4-0 start was great, but a bit of a mirage, as it turns out Seattle, Jacksonville, Oakland and St. Louis are all dogs, and San Diego is not the San Diego everybody expected. The Bills are likely to get whacked again at New England Sunday, even though the Pats are surprisingly only 3 point favorites at home. Still, the Pats looked far better in their loss at Indy than the Bills did in their loss to the Jets.’
