Buffalo on Friday night reached an agreement with four-year veteran Derrick Dockery, who had played his entire career with the Washington Redskins, on a seven-year, $49 million contract, ESPN.com learned.

‘Cash to the cap may have sounded restrictive, but the Buffalo Bills did not hold back when pursuing a player they believe will help their suspect offensive line.’

‘That would make the deal identical to the one that Hutchinson, a four-time Pro Bowler, secured from the Minnesota Vikings last year.’

‘Whittle played in all 16 games last season for the Minnesota Vikings and started two in place of the injured Artis Hicks. In nine career seasons — with the New York Giants, Tampa Bay and Minnesota — Whittle has started 42 of 125 career games.’
