‘”When he’s on the field, things happen,” coach Dick Jauron said. “He makes tackles on defense, he makes tackles on special teams. Clearly the contact in professional football, he doesn’t mind.”

‘”Of course, you always wish it was an easier road,” Davis said. “For me, this was the first hard year of really worrying about whether you were going to make it or not. … Now, hopefully, I’ve got a chance to help this team out.”‘

‘The coaches also want Losman to slow down once the ball is snapped and shorten his stride when dropping back to pass. By keeping his feet underneath him and practicing better throwing mechanics, the team believes Losman will be a much better passer this season.’

‘Coach Dick Jauron said the final two additions to the practice squad will be made before Wednesday.’

‘"My agent had to call them and see what was going on," said DiGiorgio who did not receive a call from the coaching staff Saturday. "But then I saw a bunch of guys at the hotel that got a call and found out that they didn’t make the team, so at that point I knew I had made the team. I guess no news is good news. Hopefully I can do whatever it takes to help these guys win."’

‘On looking ahead at New England: There’s really no other way to say it except that over the last five years they’ve got to be the best team in football. They’ve won it three out of five times. They’re really good and really confident and they know how to play. This league is made up of the best players in the world, so we might as well play the best to start with.’

‘On how he found out he made the team: We didn’t get a call. My agent called them around 4:30. I saw some of the guys who got a call at the hotel and I knew then. I didn’t know exactly what to expect. No news was good news, right?’

‘Cornerback Eric King, tight end Brad Cieslak, running back Fred Jackson, defensive tackle Jason Jefferson, defensive end Ryan Neill and wide receiver George Wilson all returned leaving the Bills two spots to fill if they choose.’
