‘I like the way Dick Jauron operates. He is honest with his players. They respect that. They can pay him back by giving him an honest effort every time they take the field. Nothing has happened at camp that makes me change my thoughts that this will be an improved team,that just doesn’t have enough talent to be in the playoffs. But they’ll be a tough out. they’ll be smarter. they’ll be mentally tougher. they’ll make their fans proud. That might not be enough, but considering the way things went last year, it will be progress.’

‘If Jauron was to cut one of the above pass catchers right now, the most obvious option would likely be Price.’

‘After watching Cutler’s impressive performance on Saturday against the Titans, GM Marv Levy wishes he at least googled the guy. “Wow, I had no idea he was that good,” said Levy, who used his top pick on Ohio State safety Donte Whitner. “I didn’t even know what school he was from. Then I decided to google him and found all this information about how awesome he was in college. Huh. I guess I should have done that before the draft. I also should have googled Donte Whitner, because apparently he isn’t very good.”‘

‘The seven-year NFL veteran is slotted as the No. 2 receiver behind Lee Evans, but has been held without a catch in Buffalo’s first two preseason games.’

‘The Buffalo Bills announced today that Time Warner Cable has purchased the remaining seats for the Bills Kids’ Day preseason game against the Cleveland Browns at Ralph Wilson Stadium making the event sold out for the third consecutive year. By purchasing the remaining tickets, Time Warner has made it possible for the game to air live Saturday, August 26 at 6:00 pm on WKBW-TV in Buffalo, WHAM-TV in Rochester, WTVH-TV in Syracuse and WSEE-TV in Erie. The game had been subject to NFL blackout rules.’

‘Rookie safety Donte Whitner returned to practice with a big smile on his face. He was excused from Tuesday’s session so he could go home to Cleveland for the birth of his son, Donte Jr. “It was kind of hard to come back the day after the birth of your first child,” he said. “But I have to get up here and get back to work. I’ll see him, hopefully, soon.”‘

‘Hunter, who spent his rookie season on the Buffalo Bills practice squad, wasn’t being told to bring his playbook and see the head coach. He was being told he was starting last Saturday’s preseason game against Cincinnati at strong side linebacker, so be ready.’
