‘But for the offense to begin to gel around one of the three quarterbacks in the hunt for the starter’s job, Evans would like to see a decision, soon. Evans was complimentary of Nall, as well. "I have seen what he can do," Evans said. "But J.P. made the step up; he is making good reads, and making good throws. If that is [who] they decide to [go with], then that is what we have to go with."’

‘Kelly has said that he was frustrated with how the 2005 season ended. He believes that the Bills wasted a real opportunity to see what JP could do by putting him on the bench for half of the games.’

‘”I’m excited, but it’s more of a different excitement,” Losman said. “I’m not like `little kid excited.’ It’s more like, `I’ve got to get it done.’ There’s been enough talking about it. … It’s time to actually go out and be that person.”‘

‘On his progress and working with the first-team: I think I’ve done well. I played well last week and I just want to continue to play well. I used it as a stepping stone because we’ll have a game this week and then we have two more before the season starts. I want to play as well as I can and get as good as I can. Wherever that puts me into our rotation, I’ll be happy to be there.’

‘On being the frontrunner for the starting job: It’s the same for me. Like I’ve said before, there’s a lot of things that I want to work on and get better at in order to make a me a more happy person. I have to be happy with my play and myself and then once I feel that I am, I think my teammates and coaches and everyone will be happy with the play. We just have to get this thing rolling.’

‘"I’m just shooting for the point where I feel most comfortable with it," said Spikes. "When I get to that point then you’ll see. Other than that, I’m just taking it one day at a time."’

‘Quarterback play will be among the hot topics at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Friday night, when the Buffalo Bills play host to the Cincinnati Bengals in the second preseason game for both teams.’

When asked about the change, coach Dick Jauron talked about how, in the rotation – “play as hard as you can as long as you can” – they would all play about equally.’
