‘He retires from the Bills and the National Football League after 34 football seasons with three different franchises (previously served with New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns).’

‘Moulds reached an agreement Thursday on the framework of a contract with the Houston Texans, sources in Houston told The News. That’s only half of the process, however. Houston still must get the Bills to agree on the compensation they will pay to finalize the trade. No completion of the deal was expected until Monday at the earliest.’

Angelo Wright, Adams’ agent, confirmed late Thursday night that his client and the Bengals are close to agreeing on a three-year contract. Terms of the deal were not available, but Wright said the deal would be incentive-laden and that’s it likely something could be finalized by as soon as today.’

‘Adams turns 33 in June and is looking to bounce back from a tough season in Buffalo in which he was one of the few impact players who escaped injury. Ron Edwards, the other tackle, went down with a season-ending injury, as did Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes. Pat Williams, his tag-team partner in the middle, left in free agency. Ex-head coach Mike Mularkey’s decision to use Adams as a backup in the second half of the season left many perplexed, including Adams.’

‘The deal likely won’t be consummated until the weekend because the Bengals want Adams to take a physical exam.’

‘Greg Johnson, one of Moulds’ agents, said earlier this week that Moulds’ preference was to play for the Eagles. The Birds have seemed only mildly interested…’

‘The league source said the Eagles have not had any trade discussions for Moulds.’

‘It has been widely speculated that the Bills would seek at least a third-round draft pick for Moulds, but could settle for a fourth-rounder. Buffalo stands to free more than $5 million in salary-cap room if it parts with Moulds.’

‘The Texans have agreed to pay Moulds $14 million over four years in a deal that includes a $5 million signing bonus.’

‘Edwards (6-3, 320) comes to Kansas City after spending the first five seasons (2001-05) of his NFL career with Buffalo.’

There are still some details to be completed and it is believed the Bengals want Adams to take a physical exam before the deal is officially executed.’

A fifth-round choice of the Bills in the 2000 draft, Morris played four years in Buffalo before signing with the Dolphins in 2004.

‘Eric Moulds, for the time being, is still a Buffalo Bill. Reports that a contract extension between Moulds and the Texans has been reached are false, according to the agent for Moulds – Harry Henderson.’
