‘Broncos 24, Bills 10.’

‘There’s cold, and then there’s Buffalo cold.’

‘If and when you watch Holcomb and the Bills this weekend, remember this article. If Holcomb leads the team to an upset over 10-3 Denver, and there’s a mutiny by angry Bills fans seeking a high pick in the 2006 draft, don’t say I didn’t warn you. And Kelly, if you read this, watch your back. It might be best if you come out on Saturday and “accidentally” throw an interception or two. Otherwise, you could cost the team a solid prospect such as Haloti Ngata, Mario Williams, or A.J. Hawk.’

‘”It’s not very complicated,” Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. “It’s a philosophy that we believe in. We’re going to stick with it. Even though sometimes it doesn’t work, it’s a belief and kind of something that the players will consistently work at. Hopefully if you don’t get a big play early, somewhere in that third or fourth quarter it’ll come.”‘

‘”We need to go out and do some good things. We haven’t played well the last couple of weeks. Offensively, we need to get some things going. We need to get into a groove and be consistent. Up until this point we haven’t been consistent, but we’ve got three games left and it starts this Saturday night.”‘

‘The Bills have many problems, but Fletcher certainly isn’t one of them.’

‘Mularkey said Losman may attempt to throw today, and hopefully he will be available to serve as Holcomb’s backup.’

‘Fletcher has served as the spokesman for the Verizon Wireless HopeLine collection, an annual stadium cell phone collection that takes place in October in recognition of domestic violence awareness month. He makes frequent appearances to promote the collection and increase the awareness of supporting victims of domestic violence.’

‘Levy’s wisdom and class would be assets, and his hiring would be a public relations coup at a time when the organization could really use one.’

‘The Broncos will run all over the Bills, and win 23-14.’

‘”I think anytime he’s not in there, he’s missing valuable experience,” Mularkey said. “Even with the situation last week, I think every rep was good. Even though I didn’t feel like we took a step (forward) like we had been the previous weeks, it would make him take a step back if we can’t get him back in there.”‘

He’s a very good receiver,” Mularkey said. “I don’t know what Eric’s plans are, what our plans are, at any position on our team. When we get to the end of this season, you have to sit down and evaluate just exactly where we are, who’s good enough and who’s not good enough, and what changes we have to make going forward.”‘

‘”It is not a destination that you put high on your rankings, but we know we have to go into a tough place and play,” Denver quarterback Jake Plummer said. “We know what to expect. We expect it to be cold, snow and nasty. If we get a nice day, we caught a break, but you have to expect the worst.”‘

‘”I’d rather face Losman any day,” Broncos defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban said. “A young quarterback is going to make more mistakes than a veteran, savvy quarterback. Even though (Losman) can run, I’d still rather face him. And Kelly Holcomb, he loves the hard count, man. He can hard count with the best of them. That’s going to be a big part of their game plan, you can believe that.”‘
