Bills’ Moulds officially suspended by team

‘Moulds had a streak of 121 straight games with a reception come to an end on Sunday. A 10-year veteran and the longest-tenured Bills player, Moulds has 54 catches for 511 yards and three touchdowns this season.’

Nobody blows up the wagons like Mike Mularkey

‘As for Mularkey, this week’s game will determine whether or not he has officially lost this football team. If they come out flat than its pretty obvious that he has. If Buffalo comes out ready to play as they did in their last meeting with the Patriots, maybe there’s still hope for the second-year head coach. However, all signs point to the former rather than the latter.’

Bills suspend WR Moulds one game

‘”I said Eric, ‘I’m like Solomon, and I’m trying to cut the baby in half.’ So here is the agreement, instead of passing out a lot of press releases and so forth. Eric hasn’t practiced this week and he won’t be ready to play Sunday. He is suspended for one game and it will be this Sunday, without pay. From there on, he’s back and will play the final three games of the season, which I hope we do better than we have so far.”‘

Bills suspend Moulds for game against Patriots

‘"Eric hasn’t practiced this week so he won’t be ready to play Sunday, he is suspended for one game without pay," Wilson said following the meeting. "From there on, he’ll be back and will play the final three games of the season which I hope we’ll do better than we have so far."’

Bills vs. Patriots

‘Patriots 28, Bills 13.’

Wilson Suspends Moulds

‘…Eric Moulds has been suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team. Moulds will not be paid for this Sunday’s Patriots game. Bills owner Ralph Wilson told the media that he met with Moulds before suspending him. Wilson did not take questions. Scott Wilson reported that head coach Mike Mularkey was not in the meeting.’

New England (7-5) at Buffalo (4-8)

‘Bills 17, Patriots 16.’

Losman has long way to go to equal Brady’s stature

‘The path isn’t quite so clear for Losman. Buffalo is still waiting for a worthy heir to Jim Kelly, nine years after he retired. Flutie had the everyman appeal, but he wasn’t there long enough (three seasons) and didn’t win enough (0-1 in the playoffs). Losman, with his scruffy/cocky vibe and the way he has embraced the city, could be a folk hero up there. But not at 4-8.’

Bills very aware of Faulk’s work

‘Buffalo ranks dead last in the NFL at defending third down (opponents succeed 45 percent of the time), so Faulk figures to be a focal point.’

Moulds: the suspense builds

‘”I’m hopeful that cooler heads can prevail and the situation can be resolved,” said Greg Johnson, Moulds’ personal adviser. “Eric is very competitive. He wants to play.”‘

Mularkey turns clumsy on suspension

‘If Moulds refused to go back into the game at Miami, as some reports suggest, he deserves some kind of discipline or fine. He isn’t without blame here. He is unhappy with his diminished offensive role and the flimsy play-calling of the coaching staff. But what can Mularkey hope to gain by making a public example of him now?’

Fletcher wins one sweet award

‘Buffalo Bills linebacker London Fletcher has been named the team’s 2005 Walter Payton Man of the Year.’

Change is Inevitable

Don’t kid yourself. It’s not all Tom Donahoe’s fault. When you watch Terrance McGee go back to the Pro Bowl, or see Lee Evans catching TD passes, you’ll have him to thank. But it’s never one person’s fault. But when you are the guy with all of the power you are ultimately responsible for what everyone under you accomplishes or fails to accomplish.’

Mularkey in Tough Spot in Moulds Mutiny

Eric won’t be alone, of course. A lot of Bills careers will be changing after the next four games, and we’re not just talking about the players.’

Bills Might Suspend Disgruntled Moulds

‘Terrell Owens is not the only standout NFL wide receiver at odds with his team these days.’
