‘”It’s pretty close,” Mularkey said. “The scrimmage (against the Packers on Aug. 5) was a good indicator, but they’ll get a fair amount of playing time when we get into these games. We’ll switch them up so they’re playing against equal talent. We’ll get a better chance to see what they can do as these games unfold.”‘

‘”I’m as competitive as anyone and would love to be playing, but my main goal at this stage of my career is to be with a winner,” he said during a break from preparations for tonight’s 6 o’clock exhibition game against the Green Bay Packers at Ralph Wilson Stadium. “We did a lot of losing in Cleveland and that got real old.”‘

‘”We’re still not really game planning, but we’re looking at it, that’s for sure,” center Mike Flanagan said. “We wouldn’t want to put up another number like eight sacks.”‘
