Buffalo Signs OL Mike Gandy

‘Former Chicago Bear and current Bears color man Tom Thayer joined Schopp and the Bulldog to talk about Gandy and had nothing but positive things to say about the new Bill. Thayer said that Gandy was a smart guy who could play all the spots on the offensive line if called upon.’

Bills ink free agent Gandy

‘Gandy appeared in five games at right guard last year, but has also played left guard, as well as both tackle positions, where he will most likely be utilized.’

Bills sign G-T Mike Gandy

‘The Bills may use Gandy or Marcus Price, who has yet to re-sign, at left tackle to replace Jennings, who signed a seven-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday.’

Buffalo Bills sign Mike Gandy

‘Gandy is the first player the Bills signed since free agency began Wednesday.’

Bills Sign OL Mike Gandy

‘The 26-year-old Gandy has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Chicago Bears and has appeared in 32 games, starting 30 over the course of his career.’

Transcript: Quarterback J.P. Losman

‘Q: Why will the offense evolve with you in it and what do you have to say about getting down?

A: I guess the offense is going to change. I don’t know how much yet. I haven’t spent much time with the coaches with them telling me exactly what we’re going to do. I’m sure there will be some rollouts and they will use my mobility a little bit. As far as getting down, I have to hear it from my teammates everyday. In the locker room they are always whispering in my ear ‘get down’. I think Spikes is the biggest one. I realized that I’m going to hurt my team more by not sliding than sliding. I really don’t like to do it, but it’s something I’m going to learn how to do in order to help our team win.’

Advice from the pros

‘Tucker encouraged the mostly pre-teen audience members to be as equally determined to succeed in whatever dream they hold. If they do, he said, they will resist the lures of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. “Go for goals, because with those you are less likely to fall by the wayside,” he said.’

Losman embraces leadership role

‘”No one knows, obviously, what’s going to happen,” Losman admitted. “I can sit here and say what I think, but it’s all just hearsay. The season will start soon enough, and people will find out.”‘

The Kid feels no pressure

‘I think I know what he’s thinking. I think you know what he’s thinking. The Kid believes he’s a winner. So far, so good.’

New QB Losman knows respect is earned

‘”I’m fortunate and feeling excited. The people upstairs made the decision and I just need to move forward and go with it.”‘

Losman stands tall against first blitz

‘Of course, none of this will matter if the second-year pro from Tulane University doesn’t prove to be the quarterback the Bills have desperately sought since Jim Kelly’s departure nearly a decade ago. The bottom line is wins, not witty quotes.’

Losman Meets Media

‘However, he did add Bledsoe was very supportive during his rookie season. "I think our relationship was great. He never hesitated to answer a question that I had and actually every time I came off the field he was very supportive. He told me things what I did wrong or what I did right before I even had to ask."’

Jennings Jets West

‘Selected in the third round of the 2001 draft, the 6’3", 354 lb. Georgia product was the longest serving member of the Bills current offensive line. He started a total of 52 games for Buffalo including 14 starts in 2004.’

Random thoughts from the combine

The Buffalo Bills are resigned to the fact that their new quarterback, ’04 first-round draft pick J.P. Losman, is going to rely very heavily on his considerable mobility.
