Bills Down Jets

‘On defense, the Bills forced a Chad Pennington fumble and Lawyer Milloy intercepted the Jets QB in the fourth quarter. In addition, the Bills held Curtis Martin to a season low 67 yards rushing and Pat Williams tackled Martin in the endzone for a safety.’

Rookie Evans Comes Up Big for Bills

‘”Lee made some spectacular catches for us today in pivotal situations,” said Bledsoe. “That’s great to see, you want a young guy that can come in and make plays at pivotal times in games.”‘

Offense Capitalizes on Jets’ Mistakes

‘”The thing that I like is that this team is starting to take on the personality that Mike (Mularkey) has been preaching since he first got here,” quarterback Drew Bledsoe said. “The running game is taking off…special teams are playing well…we’re not turning the ball over, and our defense is playing well.”‘

Bills Pull Off Upset Win 22-17

The Bills continue their mid season revival as they beat a quality team for the first time this year with a 22-17 win over the Jets. Willis McGahee was a workhorse as he rumbled for 132 yards on 37 carries and a touchdown. The defense added two takeaways and a safety while Drew Bledsoe hit Lee Evans for a score as the Bills pulled off a complete victory before a soldout crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Everyone Contributes To Complete Victory

It was another solid all around effort from the Bills as they came away with the upset win over the Jets. The offense made the plays when they had to. The defense was solid and had a safety. Special teams had a few nice kick returns and one beautiful coffin corner punt.

Jets QB Pennington pulled after bruising right shoulder

‘Feeling his arm begin to stiffen, Pennington approached coach Herman Edwards in the fourth quarter. The conversation took place after Pennington’s last two drives ended with an interception and a 13-yard sack.’

Bills Beat Jets, Win Second Straight

‘McGahee was handed the ball 37 times, the most for a Bills running back since 1992. The 37 carries also tied the mark for second most in a single game in franchise history.’

Williams Leaves Game with Neck Injury

‘X-rays on his neck proved to be negative and Head Coach Mike Mularkey said doctors will take a closer look at him on Monday. "Obviously, first off, you’re worried about the guy," said Bledsoe. "Anytime you see somebody laying on the field like that you are concerned. He’s a guy I have a lot of respect for and is an important part of this team."’

Bills, McGahee Run Past Jets

‘”They came out and played their type of football,” head coach Herm Edwards said. “They were physical and kept the ball for most of the game. They just beat us, and they deserved to win. When we commit 10 fouls, it makes it very difficult to win on the road.”‘

Buffalo 22, NY Jets 17

‘Quincy Carter took over, and completed a 51-yard touchdown pass to Santana Moss, cutting the Bills’ lead to 22-17 with 4:06 remaining. The Bills responded with an eight-play, 37-yard drive to run out the clock. They might have caught a break in extending that final drive when officials ruled Evans kept both feet inbounds on a 27-yard reception up the right sideline on third-and-8 with 2:31 remaining. But the Jets were unable to challenge after having used their three timeouts.’

Buffalo 22, NY Jets 17

‘Chad Pennington struggled against the wind. The conditions had no effect on Willis McGahee’s power running.’

Buffalo 22, NY Jets 17

‘Willis McGahee ran for 132 yards and a touchdown to lead the Buffalo Bills to a 22-17 victory over the New York Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium. McGahee now has reached the 100-yard mark in all three of his starts, all won by the Bills (3-5).’

Bills’ OT Williams taken off in ambulance

‘An immobilized Williams gave a thumbs up as he was put in the ambulance. He was then taken to the locker room for x-rays on his neck and back, which were negative, and reportedly had movement in all extremities.’

Bills RT Williams driven off field in ambulance

‘Bills right tackle Mike Williams appeared to be knocked cold and was driven off the field in an ambulance during the third quarter of Buffalo’s game against the New York Jets on Sunday.’
