The defense is playing well, and the Bills could still be a good football team in the near future. Whether near future means this year or next remains to be seen.’

‘It would be interesting to see how Henry handles a demotion. He wasn’t happy when the Bills drafted McGahee in the first round of the 2003 draft. He eventually accepted the situation, realizing that McGahee did not pose an immediate threat because he was recovering from reconstructive knee surgery. But the idea of losing playing time won’t sit well with Henry, who spent most of the second half on the bench last Sunday.’

Come to think of it, I think what’s made Bledsoe and Testaverde look so old lately is the absence of that alertness. ‘”There has been some rough games,” Mohr laughed. “We played Detroit [Dec. 12, ’91], I think it was the last game of the year. The wind was blowing hard that day and I dropped it and the ball almost blew off my foot. I punted it and it went straight to the sideline towards our bench and almost hit (special teams) coach Bruce DeHaven. I looked over there and he’s just laughing. There was nothing you can really do when that happens because you can’t predict when that gust is going to hit you. You’ve got to be careful when those winds start gusting around.”‘

The Bills and Cardinals are two struggling teams but the Cardinals got a big win last week against Seattle. The Bills continue to struggle offensively and will look to Willis McGahee to jump start the offense.
