‘Shaw’s agent Frank Bauer told The Associated Press that his client arrived for practice when he was informed to clean out his locker and await being cut or traded. Bauer said the team had until 1 p.m. to trade Shaw, or he would be released. ”Any time a team’s struggling, there’s a tendency to make some changes,” Bauer said. ”But this one catches Bobby and me both by surprise. … Maybe they were trying to send a message.”’

The Buffalo Bills made their first front-office reaction to owner Ralph Wilson’s public frustration about an offense he labeled as boring. In a strange move Wednesday morning, the team order wide receiver Bobby Shaw to clear out his locker and await either a release or trade by 1 p.m.

Wow! How far has this rivalry fallen? The Bills and Dolphins is usually a game circled on many fans of both team’s calendars. This year, it is a battle of the only two remaining winless teams in the entire league.

‘It’s now or never for the Bills with the easiest part of the schedule coming over the next three weeks with a Ravens squad that will be without the suspended Jamal Lewis and the 1-4 Cardinals coming after Miami before looking for revenge against the Jets on Nov. 7. But as abysmal as things look right now, a win on Sunday would put the Bills at 1-4, the same record the Tennessee Titans had in 2002 on their way to an 11-5 record and AFC Championship appearance.’

‘Lee Evans became the 37th player to catch a Bledsoe touchdown pass. Evans has a 40 plus yard reception in three straight games. He is the the fifth to do that and the first rookie.’

‘"I remember pretty much spreading everybody out and it was really supposed to be a pass play," said Kelly. "I’ve heard like four or five different things it was supposed to be, but it was supposed to be a pass play to Ronnie Harmon out in the flat. We were supposed to have a couple picks coming across on the right side, but as I got the snap, I dropped back and I just saw the guys splitting them. The linebackers and defensive backs were just splitting. I saw a little crease and decided to put my head down and run to the goal line and hopefully I was going to get across before they got to me. I remember getting underneath a couple of the Dolphin players. One of the guys was hurt on that play. I think, if I remember correctly, one of them knocked the other guy out, but I was almost the one that really got hurt the worst. I was on the bottom of that pile and I couldn’t breath! I’m yelling for everyone to get off me! Then I just couldn’t even yell because I was so tired and just the excitement of beating the Dolphins."’

‘David Pruce is an offensive lineman who was in camp with New England this summer. He was a starter in NFL Europe for Frankfurt for the past two seasons.’
