Titans top the sloppy Bills

‘Counting declined or offsetting infractions, more than 30 penalties were called in the game, with Buffalo officially assessed 12 for 127 yards. “It was real sloppy and we still had a chance to win, that’s what was unbelievable about it,” said coach Mike Mularkey.’

Bills’ McGahee denies making trade request

‘”Willis understands where he is on the road back, he’s happy here, he and Travis are both team players. We’ve been trying to say for two weeks there’s nothing to this, but there may be some outside individuals who want to make more of it than what there really is. As far as our team is concerned, there’s no controversy.”‘

Blame agent for creating McGahee rift

‘Shrewd agent Drew Rosenhaus, who won’t deny that McGahee won’t be happy as the No. 2 man, has dirt on his hands but Donahoe wouldn’t acknowledge it. He should have.’

McGahee has yet to earn the right to rant

‘Only a cynic would suggest that Rosenhaus, who negotiated an incentive-laden contract for McGahee, has to have Willis in the line-up to maximize his cut.’

Bills draw preseason sellout for second time

‘After getting a franchise-record low 18 takeaways in 16 games last season, Buffalo got two in a second straight game. Against Tennessee the Bills recovered two fumbles, the first by defensive tackle Sam Adams after linebacker Jeff Posey sacked Titans’ backup QB Billy Volek who lost the ball. Later, safety Pierson Prioleau picked up a bobble by reserve running back Vick King caused by linebacker Mario Haggan.’

Tennessee 16, Buffalo 15

‘Bulluck weighed in on the Bills’ running back issues by favoring Henry. “He’s the best running back they’ve got,” Bulluck said. “I don’t understand what the controversy’s about. … (McGahee) doesn’t hit the hole as hard as Travis. To me, he didn’t really pose the threat when he was back there. But he’s a young back. He has time.”’

Bills RB Henry knocked out of preseason game

‘He said the pain is in the same spot as where he tore rib cartilage in the third week of last season. Henry missed only one game, electing to play through the pain. “It’s not nearly as bad,” Henry said. “I’m breathing a lot better and moving around a lot better. It’s a little sore … but I think it’s going to be OK.”’

Moorman inactive for Saturday’s preseason game

‘Buffalo punter Brian Moorman was listed as inactive for the Bills’ preseason game Saturday night against Tennessee.’

Tennessee 16, Buffalo 15

‘J.P. Losman, one of Buffalo’s two first-round picks this season, went 4-of-6 for 23 yards. He also rushed for 43 yards. Lee Evans, the team’s other first-round pick, had one catch for no yards.’

Tennessee 16, Buffalo 15

‘Buffalo’s Drew Bledsoe was 7-of-10 passing for 67 yards.’

Bills’ Henry leaves game with injury

‘Henry had seven carries for 27 yards and one reception for three yards before leaving the game.’

Henry Hurt In Bills Loss To Tennessee

‘Henry said after the game that his ribs aren’t as sore as last season when he tore rib cartilage in the third week of last season. Henry was laid out to dry by Drew Bledsoe. The play started when RT Mike Williams totally whiffed on his man Juqua Thomas. Bledsoe had to duck and was running to his right. He spotted Henry about eight yards down field and threw the ball a little behind him. That allowed Bullock to arrive and the same time as the ball. Henry took about five minutes to get up and was taken by cart to the lockerroom. Henry finished with 27 yards on seven carries. He had a fumble, but Bledsoe took half the blame for putting the ball on Henry’s hip. Willis McGahee replaced Henry and scored on his second series from three yards out. McGahee was unimpressive with 28 yards on 11 attempts. He also dropped a pass. Buffalo’s leading rusher was J.P. Losman as the quarterback pranced for 43 yards on four carries.’

Bills Lose… Henry Hurt

‘The most negative aspect of the game for the bills besides the Henry injury was penalties. The game was littered with personal fouls. Buffalo was officially called for 12 penalties and 127 yards Tennessee added 11 calls good for 73 yards to the total.’

Travis Henry Bruises Ribs vs. Titans

‘”It’s not good but it couldn’t happen at a better time considering it’s still the preseason and we’ve got two more games before that first regular season game,” he said. “If something bad could happen, it happened at the right time.”‘
