Bills Waive 11 Players

‘The Bills now have 68 players on their roster, including three NFL Europe exemptions. NFL rosters must be reduced again to 53 players by Sunday, September 5th.’

Brown Not Part of Return Game Plans

‘Brown was the victim of others playing well around him. McGee broke out some big gains early in the preseason and showed how dangerous he can as a return man.’

KR Brown among 11 players cut by Bills

‘Brown, who averaged 21.8 yards per kickoff return last year, was sparingly used this preseason, managing just one return for 18 yards. Receiver Josh Reed and cornerback Terrence McGee had more impressive preseason performances, and were considered to be the favorites for the job.’

Bills Waive 11 Players

‘The Buffalo Bills have waived the following 11 players…’.

Wire May Get Chance to Start

‘"If the situation does come up where I’m going to have to fill Lawyer’s shoes, then I’m going to do the best I can," Wire said. "I have a responsibility to this team to fill some pretty big shoes but I’m going to do the best I can to do that."’

Ultimate Tailgate Party

‘For each Bills home game, Brian Moorman’s PUNT Foundation and Meyers’ RV Superstores will auction off the "Ultimate Tailgate Party". Each party provides ten (10) fans with the use of a luxury RV in the Meyer’s RV Camper Lot at Ralph Wilson Stadium along with great food and beverage and ten (10) game tickets. To place your online bid or further detailed information, visit www.brianmoormanfoundation.org or call Jeff Ginn at 888.330.7529 x14.’

Bills sign Matthews as backup to Bledsoe

‘ backup for most of his NFL career, Matthews has started 22 games, 15 in his four seasons with the Chicago Bears. The other seven starts were in 2002 with the Washington Redskins under Steve Spurrier, his coach at Florida.’

Bills sign QB Matthews

‘With Matthews on board, it looks as if the Bills will open the season with quarterbacks taking up four of their 53 roster spots, and only two will be healthy – Bledsoe and Matthews.’

Trafford thrilled by chance with Bills

‘Without making any promises, Mularkey wasn’t afraid to pay Trafford a strong compliment. "He should be able to play in this league, I think that right now," said Mularkey, who played nine seasons in the NFL at the same position. "If desire’s not enough, you’ve seen flashes that he’s got talent enough."’

Around the Northwest

‘An ownership group headed by former Seahawks player Sam Adams has filed an application with the National Indoor Football League for an expansion franchise in Everett starting in 2005, league officials said yesterday in a news release. Adams plays defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills.’

Bills backup QB out 4-to-6 weeks

‘"We’re not going to go into the first regular season game with just one experienced quarterback," said Donahoe. "We would not think that’s a fair position to put the team."’

Brown’s Injury Just A Sprain

‘"In my 20 years in the NFL I can’t remember a situation like this in this short a time frame with the quarterbacks," said head coach Mike Mularkey.’

Bills Receive Some ìGoodî Injury News

‘In related injury news, starting safety Lawyer Milloy underwent successful surgery Sunday on his broken forearm. Milloy seems confident he will be able to play in the Sept. 12 opener against Jacksonville.’

Matthews Signs. Brown Out 4 To 6 Weeks

‘He watched practice on Monday standing next to quarterbacks coach Sam Wyche talking about plays.’

Bills sign Matthews to replace injured backup QB

‘It’s possible that Matthews could make his Bills debut in the team’s preseason finale, at Detroit on Thursday. The Bills, who open their regular season hosting Jacksonville on Sept. 12, have only two other healthy quarterbacks on their roster: Bledsoe and Greg Zolman, who opened camp as the team’s fourth-stringer.’
