‘”Sam (Adams) is hard to stop when he gets going. Everyone is playing hard. Everybody is covering, we’re a team, that’s where it comes from. Sacks are a team stat. It was a fun game. Everyone played hard and we got after them.”‘

‘”We had to all play. We have to step up at this point in the season. We have to play every game, but our backs are against the wall. We’ll see who steps, and we all have to do that. We had a good game today, offensively, defensively and on special teams.”‘

In the second half, we get a big turnover, we don’t get anything out of it and then they go on and make another long drive basically just running the ball.’

‘”They took it to us. This game is not real hard, they out executed us. Our defense played extremely well and kept us in the football game. They also have a good defense, when you play against a good defense you only get a certain number of chances to hit a big play and when you don’t make those plays you make it really tough on yourself. They did a good job of mixing up their defenses and they stayed aggressive all game. We made a few big plays on third downs to keep some drives alive but didn’t make enough and when you are on the road you have to make plays to put you in the red zone”‘

‘The Green & White failed to generate big plays. When they did, they couldn’t capitalize. The offense didn’t score points and the defense did not stop the run. As a result, Buffalo rode to victory behind a dominating defensive performance and a powerful ground attack. The Bills sacked Chad Pennington five times and held the Jets to just 215 total yards while Travis Henry pounded his way to 169 yards on 32 attempts.’

‘Quarterback Chad Pennington played his worst game of the season partly due to being harassed by the Bills’ front four and linebackers. New York’s offensive line was ineffective in providing time for their franchise quarterback as Pennington was sacked five times.’

‘”That was the formula that we talked about from training camp with the makeup of this team,” Bledsoe said. “That is the way we would like to play. We like to have that power running game, we like to play great defense, play good field position with the football and let Travis Henry do the work.”‘

‘What’s a little pain for Travis Henry when you can run on adrenaline?’

Bruce Smith gave a little meaning to a meaningless game between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins on Sunday by setting the NFL record for career sacks.

‘Coach Gregg Williams raised the possibility of the first-round draft pick playing following Friday’s practice.’

‘”Offensively we have to run the ball better than we did,” Bledsoe said. “The second thing is we have to do a little better in our pass protections. The problems that we had weren’t as much physical as they were mental. We had some breakdowns, assignment wise, in our protections against the Jets a few times. We have to improve in both of those areas.”‘

‘”The game is all about adjustments,” said wide receiver Eric Moulds. “If you make good adjustments you will have success. If you don’t, teams are going to continue to do the things they’ve done to you. We have to be ready to make adjustments and ready to play the game.”‘
