‘”We want to be physical every week, week-in and week-out. Today our guys were able to win the line of scrimmage. That’s what we would hope we would be able to do all year long. Today was nice. It was nice to see our guys do that.”‘

‘”We know why it didn’t work, we watched the plays, we watched every game. The games where we lost four in a row there we just didn’t make the plays, whether it was the running game or whether it was the passing game, whatever it was we didn’t make the plays we had to to win those ball games. So we put ourselves behind the eight ball. I think you have seen a display of the character that this team has with the effort we have put on the field the last couple of weeks. We went through a really tough stretch but have come back and played well.”‘

‘”We came out we played great. The offensive line was unbelievable today. We ran the ball up the middle and there were a lot of lanes to run through. My hat goes off to the offensive line, they did a great job today.”‘

‘”Sam (Adams) is hard to stop when he gets going. Everyone is playing hard. Everybody is covering, we’re a team, that’s where it comes from. Sacks are a team stat. It was a fun game. Everyone played hard and we got after them.”‘

‘”Well we had some fouls, you know we’re generally not a penalized team but our fouls hurt us and backed us way up. We were starting minus 10, minus 15 and its hard to drive against a good football team like this and for most of the first half. We were always backed up. They had the one big long drive in the first half but we were still in the football game. In the second half, we get a big turnover, we don’t get anything out of it and then they go on and make another long drive basically just running the ball.’

‘”They took it to us. This game is not real hard, they out executed us. Our defense played extremely well and kept us in the football game. They also have a good defense, when you play against a good defense you only get a certain number of chances to hit a big play and when you don’t make those plays you make it really tough on yourself. They did a good job of mixing up their defenses and they stayed aggressive all game. We made a few big plays on third downs to keep some drives alive but didn’t make enough and when you are on the road you have to make plays to put you in the red zone”‘

‘The Green & White failed to generate big plays. When they did, they couldn’t capitalize. The offense didn’t score points and the defense did not stop the run. As a result, Buffalo rode to victory behind a dominating defensive performance and a powerful ground attack. The Bills sacked Chad Pennington five times and held the Jets to just 215 total yards while Travis Henry pounded his way to 169 yards on 32 attempts.’

‘Quarterback Chad Pennington played his worst game of the season partly due to being harassed by the Bills’ front four and linebackers. New York’s offensive line was ineffective in providing time for their franchise quarterback as Pennington was sacked five times.’

‘”That was the formula that we talked about from training camp with the makeup of this team,” Bledsoe said. “That is the way we would like to play. We like to have that power running game, we like to play great defense, play good field position with the football and let Travis Henry do the work.”‘
