‘The Jets added LB Sam Cowart to the injury list with some knee swelling. He didn’t practice yesterday, but is listed as probable and is expected to face his old team.’

‘Even if he wanted to leave the Jets to take another job, Edwards couldn’t do much about it. Contrary to the report, which quoted an unidentified source, his contract doesn’t include an escape clause, according to Edwards.’

‘Edwards has provided the Jets with stability and continuity, a rare commodity in a league that offers no job security. But he is not in a position of power, not with the Jets in the midst of an underachieving 5-7 season. With two years remaining on his contract, he’s in no position to be asking for extension.’

‘With Pro Bowler John Abraham expected to miss Sunday’s game in Buffalo, his fifth in the last six weeks, Thomas will continue to start on the right side. Starting the last five games, Thomas had made 34 tackles and is coming off his best performance in Monday night’s win over Tennessee.’

‘He said he’s need to practice sometime this week in order to play on Sunday. It appears Bledsoe will be back under center this Sunday’s home game against the Jets. He is still listed as probable.’

‘Last week, a blow to the head by New York’s Keith Hamilton left Bledsoe lying on the field for a few minutes with his eyes closed. He got up and finished the series, which ended in a touchdown run by Travis Henry.’
