Mark Campbell Career BIO/STATS

Named Ed Block Courage Award recipient for his rehabilitation from knee injury in 2001…Started all 16 games at tight end and had career-highs with 25 receptions, 179 yards and 3 TDs…Recorded a career-high 7 receptions for 34 yards and a TD at N.Y. Jets 10/27/02.

Jeff Posey Career BIO

Re-wrote his career stats in 2002…finished with a team-high eight sacks on the season, which ranked him 12th in the AFC…had a career-high 71 tackles…also contributed with six solo tackles on special teams…picked up his first career interception against the Giants to seal a 16-14 win…forced Giants RB Tiki Barber to fumble on the Giants first play from scrimmage…totaled four tackles and one sack of Drew Bledsoe in the meeting with the Bills.

Bills Agree To Terms With Posey

A veteran of five NFL seasons, the 27-year-old Posey signed with Houston as a free agent last season and recorded a team-leading eight sacks in 16 games for the Texans in 2002 while making nine starts.

Browns trade Campbell to Bills

‘The Browns will get a middle-round draft pick in 2004 in exchange.’

Campbell Traded To Buffalo

‘”Mark was a good player for us and was an enjoyable player to coach,” Head Coach Butch Davis said. “However, because of the depth we have at tight end with Steve Heiden, Rod Monroe, Darnell Sanders and Aaron Shea along with NFL Europe designee Chad Mustard, we felt now was the appropriate time to make this trade. We wish Mark all the best.”‘

Bills Acquire Campbell In Trade With Browns

‘The Bills have acquired tight end Mark Campbell from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a future conditional draft pick.’

Posey agrees to sign with Bills

‘Linebacker Jeff Posey agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills on Friday, the first player to change teams on the first day of the 2003 free-agent season. Posey, a five-year veteran, appeared in 16 games and started nine with the Houston Texans last season. The agreement was confirmed by a source within the league who requested anonymity.’

Bills agree to terms with free agent LB Posey

‘Posey, 27, emerged as legitimate playmaker for the expansion Houston Texans last season. He was a marginal player with San Francisco from 1998-2000 and split the 2001 season between Carolina and Jacksonville.’

Bills waste no time in signing Posey

‘Striking quickly in the wee hours of Friday morning, the Bills reached a four-year agreement with linebacker Jeff Posey, who played for the Houston Texans in 2002.’

Bills Prepare For Free Agency Period

Rest assured, Buffalo Bills President and General Manager Tom Donahoe has constructed a plan of attack for free agency. "The one thing you do is establish a plan before free agency begins, and we like to think we've got a pretty good plan," said Donahoe earlier this week.

Bills start shopping for defensive help

‘They have about $7.55 million of room under the salary cap to do their spending.’

Bills clear cap room to pursue ‘D’

‘Buffalo starts the free agent signing period today roughly $7.5 million to $8 million under the ceiling.’

Flexibility is part of the plan

‘”The one thing you do is establish a plan before free agency begins, and we think we’ve got a pretty good plan,” Donahoe said. “But 48 to 72 hours into free agency, it could be blown to smithereens, the whole plan, and then you have to regroup.’

Bills ready to go on the defensive

‘If the Bills don’t get a free agent defensive linemen they like at a price they like, there is always the April draft, which is top heavy with quality players at tackle and end. “It’s extremely deep,” Donahoe said.’

Bills Release Tight End Jay Riemersma, Safety Billy Jenkins

‘Riemersma, a seventh-round draft pick in 1996 from the University of Michigan, has started 64 of 90 career games, catching 204 passes for 2,304 yards and 20 touchdowns.’
