‘The Bills and their new quarterback, Drew Bledsoe, have regressed since playing relatively well in their first preseason game against Cincinnati. They didn’t look sharp in the second preseason game against Minnesota and looked even worse last week versus Indianapolis.’

‘Before the season starts, there could be more pickups along the D-line, but the Bills’ biggest problem was cured when they got Bledsoe.’

And I like Bledsoe’s weapons — Moulds, the rookie, Josh Reed, Jay Riemersma down the seam. Will the QB and the coordinator click? That’s the question. I think Gilbride is better working with established players than young ones. It’s not the offense I worry about with Buffalo, it’s that D-line.

The hangup for Jammer, Sims and McKinnie seems to be the contract the Bills worked out with the No. 4 pick, Mike Williams. The deal has clauses and escapes the others all desire but there is no way the Chargers are going to surrender to those demands, and why should they?

New England at Buffalo, Nov. 3 — Bills quarterback Drew Bledsoe gets to face his old team for the first time.

Bledsoe wasn’t exactly thrilled with the way he was treated at the end, forced to watch the Super Bowl as a spectator after years of good service, so he will be a little pumped.

With the final cut one week away, who do you see being the odd-man-out in the Buffalo backfield: Bryson or Morris. I would prefer to keep Bryson.

It’s an interesting situation in Buffalo, and I’m not sure what they’ll do. I know there are rumors that the Bills are simply waiting for a major-RB injury to try to trade Bryson, and that would seem to make the most sense, as they wouldn’t get anything for any of the other backs. i think you will see them keep all 4 RBs, shaking down this way on the depth chart: Henry, Bryson, Huntley, Morris. Morris is a very good special-teams player who they won’t just give away, and we know what Bryson can do after subbing in for Henry last season. Huntley has been solid in the preseason so far too, so they’re in good shape at RB.
