Second time is the charm for Bengals, Burris

@ A former Notre Dame star, Burris entered the NFL as a first-round choice of the Buffalo Bills in 1994. He played four seasons in Buffalo before signing with the Colts as a free agent in 1998.

Out of Bounds: An interview with Nick Bakay

ESPN sportswriter talks about his feelings about the Sabres and Bills. "For me, the worse Super Bowl was when the Bills played the Cowboys in Pasadena, Calif. (Super Bowl XXVI), because not only did they get trounced, when the whole second half is like an arena football game for the other team, it’s just so bad."

Promising offensive tackle Teague to sign with Bills

‘By acquiring Teague, the Bills provide themselves with plenty of options in the 2002 draft. The conventional wisdom has been that general manager Tom Donahoe will take one of two standout offensive tackle prospects, either Mike Williams of Texas or Miami’s Bryant McKinnie, with the fourth overall choice next month.’

All about cornerback Pierson Priolea

Q: If you could do any job for one day, what would it be? A: I would want to work in a Toll Booth because I’ve always wondered how they made it.

10 Worst choke artists of all-time

8. 1992-93 Houston Oilers

Up 35-3 at halftime against the Buffalo Bills in an AFC wild-card game, the Oilers managed to turn backup Bills quarterback Frank Reich into a one-day folk hero by losing 41-38 in OT, the biggest in-game turnaround in NFL history. This was particularly painful, since the Oilers never made the Super Bowl during their years in Houston.

Offensive line straightening out

And the Broncos could find out today whether offensive tackle Trey Teague will re-sign or accept a more lucrative offer from the Buffalo Bills. Teague’s agent, Kyle Rote, said Monday his client was about ready to make his decision.

Driver & Sullivan To Attend Tonight’s Booster Club Meeting

@ Bills safety TONY DRIVER and offensive tackle MARQUES SULLIVAN, both drafted by the team last year, will appear this evening at the monthly meeting of the Buffalo Bills Booster Club.

The meeting will take place at the Calvary Episcopal Church, located at Milton and Cayuga Streets in Williamsville, and begins at 7:30 PM.

Door prizes and raffles will be awarded with all proceeds going to the Booster Club’s charity program. Members of the public are welcome.

Chris Watson signed for two year deal

As reported on The Stadium Wall, Empire and Art Wander of WNSA FM have reported that Chris Watson has signed to remain with the Bills. Details will be updated as available (no link).

Roy Williams is choice of Buffalo fans in Mock Draft

S Roy Williams, Oklahoma received 34% of 2,218 votes.

Sleepers for latter rounds

Looking for some sleepers for the Bills on draft day? Try some of these for the later rounds:

Brian Westbrook of Villanova, who fits into the category of kickoff and punt returner. He also fits as a pass-catching back.

Cliff Russell of Utah, possibly the fastest receiver available. He played for Fred Graves, the Bills receivers coach.

Kyle Johnson of Syracuse, if the Bills are looking for a traditional fullback. The Orangemen considered him a winner.

Richard Williams of Gardner Webb, who started out as a defensive lineman, switched to offensive tackle and is seen as an NFL guard. He needs polish but his plusses are tenacity and athleticism.

Greg Scott of Hampton. He is fast, strong and needs polish.

Evaluating Talent for the Job

“We saw about 330 players and hopefully we can get our fair share of them,” said President/General Manager Tom Donahoe. “We were very impressed with not only the workouts this year but the interviews we did in the evening.”

Beef for Buffalo – Bills report: Inside slant

Rehashes week old news, but throws in some new quotes.

“GM Tom Donahoe left the NFL owner’s meetings in Orlando a day early, but not because he didn’t like the sunshine or continental breakfast. Donahoe traveled to Austin, Tex. to attend the private workout of Longhorns lineman Mike Williams, who could become the Bills’ desperately needed cornerstone left tackle with the No. 4 overall pick in next month’s draft.”

Fifth Down: Inside Football’s Spin Cycle

@ Who’s gonna be the next quarterback of the Buffalo Bills? Nobody knows. It could be Alex Van Pelt. It could even be Travis Brown. If the team signs Jeff Blake or trades for Drew Bledsoe, maybe that question could be answered.

Monday Morning Quarterback

9. I think Drew Bledsoe plays in Buffalo this season.

Buffalo prepares…2002 NFL Draft

Although the Buffalo Bills thoroughly scout for the very best players year-round, the annual combine held earlier this month kicked off the countdown to Draft Weekend, held April 20th-21st in New York City.
