Marker Marrone, Schwartz talk to Hughes on conduct [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Asked if he thought that Hughes was on the same page with him on the topic, the coach said, “I hope I’m on the same page with everyone on the team, because that’s been an issue with everybody, not just Jerry.”'

Marker Talley family to accept $150,000 raised by supporters of the Bills legend [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I still am not comfortable with the idea, but I’ve talked to a lot of people I trust,” Talley said Wednesday from his home in Orlando, Fla. “They said, ‘Darryl, you’ve got to do it.’ Otherwise, it would have been a slap in someone’s face.'

Marker Bills riding it out with Orton [1:55 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Clearly, of the quarterbacks Marrone has had the misfortune of playing in his 29-game tenure as Bills coach — Manuel, Lewis, and Jeff Tuel — Orton is the best of the bunch. However, according to the all-encompassing quarterback rating metric known as Total QBR, devised by the advanced stats crew at ESPN, that’s not saying much.'

Marker Mario Williams out sick at Buffalo Bills' practice Wednesday [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Meanwhile, safety Da'Norris Searcy, who left the game on Sunday with a hamstring injury, was on the field for the Bills but not participating in every drill with the defensive backs. Defensive end Jarius Wynn, who has missed practice the last few weeks with a knee injury, returned to the practice field as well.'

Marker Buffalo Bills will release Mike Williams once he recovers from injury [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Williams was due a $5.2 million salary next season, but the Bills will be able to get out from underneath the final four years of his contract without an injury settlement by releasing him once he has recovered.'

Marker Robert Woods calls Mike Williams a 'great teammate,' insists he can still make plays [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"His morale is always positive," Woods said. "Of course he wanted to play and be out on the field with us and he went hard every rep he had. Even when he was on practice squad, pretty much he went hard every rep. Great teammate, taking plays for us when we got tired, really just trying to make a good impression, putting his body on the line just to make sure we were good on Sundays."'

Marker Doug Marrone has no plans to replace Kyle Orton with EJ Manuel, regardless of Bills' record [1:51 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"Every week I'm going to make that decision, and if I get to 7-8, I'll make that decision," Marrone said. "But right now, absolutely, I will play Kyle Orton because he gives us the best chance to win."'

Marker Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins says he 'probably hit rookie wall' in 2014 [1:50 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"I don't think I hit it, I just had a setback over the bye week, then we had the snowstorm ... I think now I think I got my mind back in the right place and that's focused," the Buffalo Bills receiver said Wednesday. "I just had to re-focus myself and now I think I'm focused and I can go out and perform the right way. I probably did hit the rookie wall, or was about to hit the rookie wall three or four weeks ago. I think I was feeling sorry for myself because it is a long season, and now I think I'm on the right page."'

Marker Aaron Rodgers says it will be great to get Packers' first win in Buffalo [1:49 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"I think that was a lot of our talk heading into our last game against Cleveland," defensive tackle Kyle Williams said. "We hadn't played particularly well at home. We were able to do it there and win a big game with Cleveland at home. We've got an even bigger game this week, and with Aaron Rodgers and their offense coming in, our crowd can play a big a part in this game as they've played in any game this year. He relies a lot on different counts, a lot on different cadences, keep pass rushers off their toes, keep the defense on their toes. So yeah, crowd noise could be a big benefit for us this week."'

Marker With Jim Schwartz coordinating, Bills' defense looks familiar [1:48 AM]
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports: 'In 10 meetings, the Packers won all but two games. They averaged 29 points in their eight victories and 6.5 points in their two losses (both on the road).'

Marker Can Kyle Orton author upset of Packers again? [1:47 AM] reports: '“I’ve probably never seen a defense play to each other’s strengths as well as our guys do. Our secondary has really played well all year. They play aggressive. They know the quarterback doesn’t have a ton of time to throw the ball so they play very aggressive. They’re smart. They’re well-coached. It can turn into a feeding frenzy pretty quick. It’s fun to take a peek at our defense whenever they’re on the field,” he added.'

Detroit Free Press reports: 'Ralph and Mary Wilson previously donated millions to charity. The Ralph Wilson Medical Research Foundation, established in 1999, supports research at the University of Michigan, Wayne State University and four other institutions. The athletic field at the NFL/YET Boys & Girls Club on Tireman in Detroit is also dedicated in Ralph Wilson's honor.'

Marker Bills Marrone sticking with Orton as starter [1:44 AM]
AP reports: '"If you're asking me personally, my decision is that he's going to play," the second-year coach said, referring to Orton after practice Wednesday. "If you ask somebody else, they might tell you something different, I don't know."'

Marker Bills: Receiver Mike Williams to be released [1:43 AM]
AP reports: 'The team provided the clarification on Wednesday, a day after Williams was not claimed off the waived-injured list. Once Williams is released, the Bills won't have to pay the final four years of his contract. The fifth-year player was due to make a $5.2 million base salary next season.'

Marker Packers-Bills Preview [1:42 AM]
AP reports: 'They've never won in five visits to Buffalo (7-6). Green Bay has beaten every other franchise on the road, and the only other current NFL cities where it hasn't won are Indianapolis (four visits) and Nashville (two).'

Marker Talley to accept donations [1:41 AM]
AP reports: 'The Talley family issued a statement expressing its "deepest appreciation for everyone concern and support," Frank Croisdale told The Associated Press on Wednesday. Croisdale is a longtime Bills fan who established an internet-based fundraising campaign for Talley on Thanksgiving Day.'

Marker Marrone sticking with Orton as Bills' QB [1:40 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'The Packers lead the league in scoring, are sixth in yards, and third in third-down percentage. This represents the toughest test of the year for the Buffalo defense; and, just like last week, there's no way around this fact: Like Denver, Green Bay's offense cannot be stopped, only perhaps contained, and the Buffalo offense will be on the hook to win the game.'

Marker Bills' Marrone to stick with Orton ''unless it changes for somebody else'' [1:39 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“Right now, absolutely, I will play Kyle Orton because he gives us the best chance to win now,” he said. “I will say this: my job right now is to win a football game, and that's how I see it. So, I'm doing the best job I can to win a football game, plain and simple.”'

Marker Report: Bills to release Mike Williams upon health [1:38 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Upon his release the Bills will not owe Williams any further compensation, as long as the wideout is cut ahead of the third day of the new league year in March. Buffalo initially acquired Williams from Tampa Bay in April for a sixth-round pick.'

Marker Bills without ill DE Mario Williams on Wednesday [1:37 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Both Williams and offensive tackle Chris Hairston missed the session due to sickness. Tight end Chris Gragg was the only other non-participant, who missed due to a lingering knee injury.'

Marker Bills name Fred Jackson 'Man of the Year' [1:36 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Should Jackson be deemed the winner of the league-wide award, the donation increases to $25,000. Jackson has chosen Carly’s Club to receive the donation, a charity that he provides twenty tickets and food vouchers to for every home game.'

Marker Fred Jackson named 2014 Bills Walter Payton Man of the Year [1:35 AM] reports: 'Off the field, Jackson has been just as impressive, serving as a strong community advocate supporting not only the Buffalo Bills breast cancer awareness and community service initiatives, but also the team’s youth player-safety (Heads Up Football) and fitness programs (Play 60). In addition to the community work he does at and away from One Bills Drive, Fred provides twenty tickets and food vouchers for every home game to Carly’s Club.'

Marker Kyle Williams named to USA Football All-Fundamentals Team [1:34 AM] reports: 'Utilizing a strong, wide base, Williams has exceptional footwork that leads to superior balance along the defensive front. After establishing a low center of gravity, he is able to get his pads under the blocker’s pads to limit an offense’s push, then uses exceptional hand techniques to disengage and pursue the ball-carrier. Williams shows exceptional ability for a defensive tackle to loop around on stunts, getting to the outside.'

Marker Buffalo Bills Cheerleaders’ Fight for Wages and Respect [12:44 PM]
New York Times reports: 'The Jills were required to attend a golf tournament for sponsors. The high rollers paid cash — “Flips for Tips” — to watch bikini-clad cheerleaders do back flips. Afterward, the men placed bids on which women would ride around in their golf carts. A not-incidental detail: The carts had no extra seats. Women clung to the back or, much more to the point, were invited to sit in the men’s laps.'

Marker Bills plan on staying with Orton [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“To be able to sustain drives, to be able to make plays when they count, to be able to keep drives going, that’s been a thing that we need to keep working on,” Marrone said. “Until we get that level of consistency, I’ll be answering these questions every week.”'

Marker Wilson Foundation will offer grants beginning in 2016 [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“Ralph cared very much for his hometown of Detroit and the people of Western New York, home of his beloved Bills, and I know his wishes to make a difference in those two areas will be important for us as trustees who are driven by our love and respect for Ralph,” Mary M. Wilson, Ralph C. Wilson Jr.’s widow, said in the statement. “Ralph’s generosity was also felt in other parts of the country where his life had been touched and these areas will be important to us going forward as they were important to Ralph.”'

Marker Bills' Orton judged on a sliding scale [1:57 AM]
Canandaigua Daily Messenger reports: 'Well don't you? The play spoke volumes about Orton and how he'll be perceived as a guy who doesn't really care.'

Marker Bills receiver Williams unclaimed on waivers [1:56 AM]
AP reports: 'The season-ending move was included on the NFL's transaction list Tuesday, a day after the fifth-year player was placed on the waived-injured list. Williams has four years left on his contract, but his future in Buffalo is uncertain.'

Marker All-22 Review - Playmaker Wanted [1:55 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Kyle Orton is not a very mobile quarterback. If we're asking him to run and make plays on the run, that's our problem. The Bills made a switch from Orton, which removed an element of escapability and mobility in their QB. Manuel was not good in throwing or making plays on the run. It often appeared as though he was quick to give up on plays. Orton now has that look as well.'
