Marker Bills tap Johnson as quarterback [5:16 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'One day after saying goodbye to Thurman Thomas Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills looked towards the future in retaining quarterback Rob Johnson as the team's starting quarterback in 2001. With the large amount of money the team's two quarterbacks would count when the salary cap numbers are enforced Thursday evening, the Bills decided they could only keep one of their two quarterbacks. After an exhaustive review of film, interviews with other players and coaches, and thought to the future direction of the club, the Bills retained the younger Johnson.'

Marker Talk about this decision on the Stadium Wall! [5:15 PM]
TBD reports: Now that Johnson is the man in Buffalo, head over to the Stadium Wall message board and tell us what you think of the decision! (If you were reading the Wall last night you would have had this information before ANYONE on the internet!).

Marker Johnson could be guy if deal with bonus can be reached [6:07 AM]
D and C reports: 'Johnson and Flutie have salary cap figures of nearly $8 million each and whomever is chosen to remain in Buffalo will have to restructure his contract. Adding additional years to help in the accounting of bonus money makes more sense financially with Johnson, who is 10 years younger than Flutie.'

Marker Once a Bill, always a Bill [6:06 AM]

Marker Rob Johnson to remain a Buffalo Bill? [2:04 AM]
TBD reports: Since everyone else is posting information from our message board, we might as well too. According to a trusted poster on the Stadium Wall message board, Rob Johnson has survived the final battle between him and Doug Flutie. This is the earliest report of the quarterback decision on the internet. (TBD normally doesn't post such items here, since we tend to be cautious with "unofficial" news.)

This source has broke several stories, including the hiring of Gregg Williams, before any other media outlet. That includes CNN/SI, ESPN, the Buffalo News, and the AP. That is why other internet sites are so confident in publishing information from our message board community. We are honored to be their source of information!

However, TBD cautions that nothing is final until GM Tom Donahoe makes an announcement.

They started throwing, and I nodded off." Anyone thinking there is a QB of the Bill's future hidden in this draft ought to think again.
