Marker Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots [5:26 PM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'Patriots 20-17.'

Marker Mike Williams Returned To Practice [5:25 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Troy Vincent didn't practice and he declared himself out of Sunday's game. He was trying to hold back his frustration while saying he's doing all he can to get his knee back to a point where he can play.'

Marker Defense Steadily Progressing [4:20 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'I've got some great assistant coaches. Those coaches are doing their job to make sure the backups are prepared to go. When you see that, those guys are going on the football field and not making mental mistakes and they are getting the job done. Like I mentioned earlier, we've got a pair of backups that have six sacks. To me, that means they are paying attention in the meetings and they are getting enough repetitions where we can still get the veteran guys their reps. Even with little to none reps they still go in and produce. To me, that makes the defense that much better.'

Marker Bills to become first NFL team with youth football facility [4:15 PM]
AP reports: 'The first games to be played on the field will happen Saturday, when the Bills host four regional youth championship games.'

Marker Healthy Milloy making presence felt with Bills defense [4:15 PM]
AP reports: '''He's a difference-maker,'' coach Mike Mularkey said. ''Your disguises are a little better. His experience is a big plus. Even in practices, you can tell there's a difference.'''

Marker Home Away From Home for Boston Backers [2:41 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"We were their biggest group sales of the season," he said. "It was pretty amazing. We brought five kegs of beer and other tailgate supplies on a Rider truck. The State Police were even keeping an eye on us because we had around 400 people together."'

Marker April brings a special touch to the Bills [1:41 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“(The two Player of the Week honors) should give us the impetus to go on,” he admitted. “Nothing should keep us back except complacency. (When I got here) I thought we had good players (for the kicking squads) and a good team. We’ve got a bunch of overachievers — or at least an overachiever mentality — and they’re just trying to get better every game.”'

Marker Bills starting to find out who they are [12:47 PM]
Quincy Patriot Ledger reports: 'McGahee's emergence has been a godsend for Bledsoe. With rookie first-round pick J.P. Losman almost recovered from a broken leg, Bledsoe's days would have been numbered had the Bills slid further out of contention. Instead, McGahee's tough running has taken the onus off Bledsoe, allowing him to fill the complementary role that Mularkey designed for him.'

Marker Price may be right man at tackle [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"He went through the walk-through segment of practice, and we wanted to just loosen him up a little bit in the pool and give him a day to make sure everything is looser," Mularkey said. "I know he's sore. . . . Tests were fine. No nausea, no concussion, just a sore neck."'

Marker Bills' 'D' zeroes in on Brady [8:50 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"He reads the defense and finds the uncovered receiver," McGee said. "He's very patient back there. You have to stay with your coverage the whole time."'

Marker Rookie Evans is catching on quick [5:05 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'The Bills have completed 18 passes of 20 yards or more and five have gone to Evans. By comparison, Eric Moulds has eight such catches, but he has had probably three times as many balls thrown his way as his 47 receptions would attest.'

Marker McGee down, but not out [5:04 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"If you replaced somebody every time they have a bad day at work, how many would be sitting in this room right now, including myself?" Mularkey said. "It was a day that if anybody could take back it would be Terrence McGee. I'm hoping that he's learned a lesson from some of the things that happened. But he's done a lot of good things ... and give the guy credit for some of the things he's done."'

Marker McGahee bouncing back [5:03 AM]
Toronto Sun reports: '"The guy is a warrior, there's no doubt about it."'

Marker Bills' patience paying off [5:02 AM]
Boston Globe reports: 'While it's too soon to anoint him a star, he's certainly found the launching pad -- the Bills are 3-1 since he took over the starting job from Travis Henry.'

Marker Pats know rival Bills pack punch [5:01 AM]
Boston Herald reports: 'They're last in the AFC in yards per play on first down (4.22). They're 29th in the NFL in yards per rushing attempt (3.5). They're 27th in passing (170.4 yards per game). They're 27th in sacks allowed per pass play (23 on the season). They're 27th in points per game (17.1).'

Marker Brady, Milloy still close [5:00 AM]
Boston Herald reports: '``You definitely have to be aware of him,'' said Brady. ``He knows our personnel. He knows our play-calling as well as just about anybody. So he's going to have his input. He had a great game against us last year when we played them there. He seems to always find his way into the mix.'''

Marker So Far, McGahee Giving Bills A Needed Boost [4:59 AM]
Hartford Courant reports: 'Of course, part of the reason Williams failed as head coach was the players Donahoe gave him. After a boffo 2001 draft that yielded four starters - CB Nate Clements, DE Aaron Schobel, RB Travis Henry, OT Jonas Jennings - Donahoe has been under siege for his personnel decisions.'

Marker Coverage in focus as Pats prep for Bills [4:58 AM]
Metro West Daily News reports: 'With the Bills and Patriots set to meet again Sunday night at Gillette Stadium, the aftertaste of the coverage collapse in Buffalo has been revisited this week. "Nobody had more problems than we did with their kicking game," Belichick noted.'

Marker Lately, at least, the Bills are getting it right [4:57 AM]
Providence Journal reports: '"Sometimes it takes a few weeks to kind of get things to where you want them to be," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said of the Bills. "Last week against the Jets [they] really pretty much played a perfect game. They had no turnovers, no interceptions, efficient passing, a good job running the ball by [Willis] McGahee, [they] got a couple of turnovers, [they had about] 38 minutes time of possession and held the Jets to 11 yards in five possessions in the second half, things like that. It was another solid day for them in the kicking game. That was probably their best effort of the year and best game of the year, especially after the Jets [were] coming off of a big win against Miami. [Buffalo] played the game the way that Buffalo wanted to play it."'

Marker McGahee backing the Buffalo offense [4:56 AM]
Woonsocket Call reports: 'Although both Henry and McGahee have similar sets of skills, Mularkey felt McGahee was doing more with his opportunities. "The difference between the two of them at the time is that we were getting more yards after first contact with Willis," Mularkey said. "That’s been the case in the first three games. He’s making a lot of yards when there’s nothing there. He’s run the ball very well."'

Marker Resurgent Milloy, Bledsoe no longer bogus Bills [4:55 AM]
Brockton Enterprise reports: 'Now, at the season's midpoint, the two former New England Patriots head back to Foxboro, their first NFL home, having contributed in major ways to the Bills' recent charge. Bledsoe?'

Marker Inside slant [4:49 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Counting this year's 0-3 mark, the Bills are 2-13 since midway through the 2002 season on the road. In that block of games, Bledsoe has been sacked 53 times and has thrown 22 interceptions and as a team the Bills are minus-34 in turnover ratio.'

Marker Strategy and personnel [4:48 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'The Bills will consider moving DT Justin Bannan to offensive guard on a full-time basis next year, line coach Jim McNally said, and Bannan isn't opposed to the idea.'

Marker Notes, quotes [4:47 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'RB Willis McGahee's 132-yard rushing day on 37 carries against the Jets last Sunday was even more impressive when you consider he had 11 runs go for zero or negative yardage. Six runs lost 21 yards. He made up for it with five carries for 12 yards or longer, bouncing outside when a hole wasn't there or carrying defenders on his back.'

Marker Buffalo (3-5) at New England (7-1) [9:03 PM]
AP reports: '``We're all getting comfortable right now,'' McGahee said. ``We know what it takes to win.'''

Marker Vincent Is Still Struggling To Get Back [8:51 PM]

Marker Confidence Continues to Build [8:49 PM]
RNews.com reports: '“The feeling's great. Anytime you win it's great,” said right guard Chris Villarrial. “We would like to stack up more of these together and this is a huge, huge week for us right now. We can go up there and if we can beat the best team in football it can really raise the morale around here.”'

Marker Key injuries don't stop New England [8:47 PM]
AP reports: '''We just have to have a little more communication,'' Harrison said. ''If I look at Ty Law, I might give him a sign or a wink or a nod of the head. He knows exactly what I'm doing, whereas you have to go out there and play alongside maybe an unproven guy or a guy that's inexperienced, it's a little different.'''

Marker McGahee's leaping into limelight [8:47 PM]
AP reports: '''He's added a big spark for us,'' guard Chris Villarrial said. ''It's great to see him step in there the way he has. He's just taken over. We're really excited about him being back there.'''
