Special teams coach learns to fasten seat belt [9:01 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"It's the nature of the beast," Smith said. "I'm directly responsible. You're eligible every single play to make something happen on special teams. It can go for you or against you. I tell the players, "You have to do it now. You have one play. You have to be on top of your game.'"'
Williams makes his point about conversion [9:00 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"A two-point conversion, we felt we could get up six points," Williams said Tuesday. "Knowing if we didn't get it, we would still be a field goal (from tying). Obviously, it's a double-edge sword. We were trying to make it a six-point game."'
Teague has found new home at center [5:24 AM]
Denver Rocky Mountain News reports: 'Buffalo offensive line coach Ronnie Vinklarek singled out Teague for handling Minnesota's four- and-five-man rushes. "Trey Teague did an outstanding job with communication," Vinklarek said. "You have to realize, he's a first-time center playing just his second game at the position."'
Nothing special about Bills' special teams [5:23 AM]
Denver Post reports: 'But the Bills' special teams have disintegrated into some of the worst. "That's why I'm shocked," Bush said. "Because I know how much (Williams) pays attention to detail, and he won't let anything slip past him. When they let up the first kick return for a touchdown against the Jets, I could see them saying, "OK, so I made a mistake.' But two blows me away. I learned a lot of the stuff I know from Gregg. So I wouldn't be surprised if he's not in that room getting after them again this week."'

Reed emerges as another Bills target [6:04 PM]
ESPN reports: Josh Reed apparently has no problem playing the same position as a perennial Pro Bowler and emerging league star. Reed, a second-round draft pick from LSU, is the first rookie this season to have 100 receiving yards in a game.
PFW Players of the Week [5:25 PM]
Pro Football Weekly reports: Bills players got two of three weekly citations by PFW.
[WR Peerless Price] Beating out Rich Gannon and teammate Drew Bledsoe was no easy task in Week Two, but Price’s 13 catches for 185 yards and two TDs, including a game-winning 48-yard clincher in overtime, put him on top. [PK Mike Hollis] Hollis connected on 4-of-5 FG attempts (52, 20, 20, 54) in a thrilling win over the Vikings, including a 54-yarder that bounced on and over the crossbar to send the game into overtime.

TMQB Gives Moulds Team Spirit Award [1:41 PM]
ESPN reports: Best team spirit: In the Buffalo-Minnesota game, the Vikings were doubling on Bills star receiver Eric Moulds. According to the Buffalo News, Moulds went to Bills coaches, declared "Forget about me" and offered to run decoy routes for fellow WRs Peerless Price and Josh Reed, who responded with 21 receptions for 295 yards and three touchdowns.
At one point in the fourth quarter, Bledsoe's lip was cut; he went the sideline and had the cut stapled together without anesthesia, immediately returning to the game. Remember, this is a gentleman whom most of the league's general managers did not want when he was placed on the trading block last winter, questioning his arm strength and spirit

WGRZ-TV reports: 'As I see it, Bills fans can simply enjoy the ups and downs this season will bring, without being shocked at some unexpected losses or unexpected wins. They will amaze you in both positive and negative ways, but they will continue to improve. That includes Williams and his coaching staff, which deserves more credit than blame after the Bills 1-1 start.'

New York Times reports: '"Not all quarterbacks can handle it, but I threw it in his lap," Gilbride said yesterday from the Bills' practice facility in Orchard Park, N.Y. "I told him, `We're going to win the game with you throwing the ball, win it with our two-minute drill, using our tempo.' "We took that approach and he accepted the challenge."'

Dissecting twists, turns of Bills' win [9:13 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Bills' defense got shredded for nearly 500 yards. But we finally saw the attacking, playmaking "D" that Gregg Williams promised. They put pressure on Culpepper and forced him into four fumbles. The Bills recovered three and finished plus-3 in the giveaway-takeaway for the first time under Williams.'

Bledsoe's quick start no accident [7:39 AM]

Did the Bills turn the corner with Sunday's wild win over the Vikings? [5:31 AM]
D and C reports: 'I thought this was a significant step for the Bills. Last year, this team would have found a way to lose this game. Even last week, they would have found a way to lose. But all week in the aftermath of the Jets game, some of the veteran players said that the Bills were getting closer and it was just a matter of someone stepping up and making plays. If that happened, the wins would start coming. Well, it happened.'
First look at Week 3 for the Bills [5:30 AM]
D and C reports: 'Denver limited the 49ers to 261 yards on Sunday, 67 of which came on a meaningless end-of-the-game drive when the Broncos had a 24-7 lead. Against the high-powered Rams, Denver allowed just 15 first downs and though Marshall Faulk caught 14 passes for 91 yards, he managed only 19 yards on 10 rushing attempts.'
Leader isn't following [5:29 AM]
Boston Globe reports: 'At least one Patriot, Troy Brown, is thrilled to see his former teammate playing so well. ''He's definitely improved their football team,'' said Brown. ''I'm happy that Drew has been able to go someplace and refresh his career. We had a situation here where we had two good quarterbacks and it would have been unfair to both of them if they were both still here."'
Bledsoe takes aerial show on road [8:18 PM]
Niagara Falls Reporter reports: 'Granted, Minnesota is one flawed team, lacking a consistent running game or much of a defense, two elements the Bills also sorely lacked for most of the afternoon. But, thanks to Bledsoe's amazing day, not a soul was heard complaining.'

AP reports: '"We've been around him a little bit and we realize that nothing he does at this stage is surprising," tight end Jay Riemersma said. "He's a tremendous talent and a great leader. And any time that we've got the ball in his hands at the end of the game, we've got a chance to win."'
