Marker Black and Gold blackout [4:55 AM]
AP reports: 'The problem is a 30-year-old NFL TV policy that allows franchises to protect their local markets by requiring stations within a 75-mile radius to carry their away games. That means WSEE in Erie must show all Buffalo Bills away games, even though the Steelers and Cleveland Browns are more popular there.'

Marker Tops Game Ball Winner: Brian Moorman [6:53 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'The winds at Ralph Wilson Stadium are difficult to kick in especially when you get the gusts like we've had a few games here. The main problem is that you just don't know when the wind is going to gust. If you had a steady wind that was blowing one way or another and not a cross wind then it wouldn't be as hard to deal with. It would knock the ball down but the ball wouldn't blow all over the place. The main thing is to try and go out there and find something that is going to work that day and stick with it.'

Marker Rams Defense Plays Hard [6:52 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'New England didn't do anything special to slow down the running game last week. We played them very well the first time and they were looking to get back at us. With the type of defense they play, they don't penetrate the line they sit back and read the offense. Sometimes that makes it harder to find the holes this way. We had our moments running the ball but we weren't able to sustain anything and that was the biggest problem.'

Marker Not Time for Losman [6:51 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'I don't think it's time for him to start. Bledsoe still gives the Bills the best chance to win and I'm sure Mike Mularkey will continue to start him until he thinks that's not the case anymore. The Bills are not out of it yet and to go to a rookie quarterback at this point in the season would be a mistake. The only scenario in which I can see Losman starting this year is if the Bills are out of the playoff race and Mularkey wants to play some younger guys to get ready for next year. Losman is the future of this franchise and he's eventually going to need some starts under his belt'

Marker Five Keys to the Game - Buffalo [6:51 PM]
StLouisRams.com reports: 'Bills quarterback Drew Bledsoe has struggled mightily this season, at times throwing the ball directly to the defender.'

Marker Reed, Vincent will miss Sunday's game [4:01 PM]
AP reports: 'Reed missed the last two games after injuring his left knee early in Buffalo's win over Arizona Oct. 31. Vincent hasn't played since having arthroscopic knee surgery after getting hurt against New England on Oct. 3.'

Marker Vincent And Reed Will Not Play [3:49 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Mike Mularkey says Vincent is improving a little, but is not near being ready. Coy Wire practiced all three days and should be available for Sunday against the Rams.'

Marker April: Rams Game is Special [2:37 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Speaking of punt returns, often this season we've had two guys back deep on punt returns. We've done this mostly because punters place the ball all over the field and it's tough for Nate Clements to field everything. Possession is the number one priority. We want Nate to get us field position, but not at the expense of doing something foolish with the ball. Up to this point, Nate has really done a good job and has made a lot of smart decisions, maturing as a pro returning punts.'

Marker Bills need the less-terrible Bledsoe [2:35 PM]
Niagara Falls Reporter reports: 'Rams, 24-13.'

Marker St. Louis (5-4) at Buffalo (3-6) [2:30 PM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Rams 24, Bills 21.'

Marker Just Asking: Takeo Spikes [8:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: ' Is television work in your future once you retire?
I probably will pursue it. That's why I do a lot of things in the offseason to try and prepare myself for that. It's something I enjoy doing and hopefully I'll get that opportunity once my playing days are over.'

Marker Bills' rocky road stretch has not yet made history [8:55 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'However, the offense in '84 and '85 was slightly more productive on the road than the Bills have been the past 16 games.'

Marker McGahee to face not-so-tough Rams run defense [8:54 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Rams are 29th in the NFL against the run, giving up 140.1 yards per game. They are allowing a whopping 4.9 yards per rush, worst in the league.'

Marker Rams will force Bills' 'D' to grow up [8:53 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We're going to go out there and do some things to help those guys out," Gray said of Baker and McGee. "But you're also going to have to take them off the diaper because when you're playing defensive back in this league, hey, you've got to have a short memory and you've got to learn from your mistakes. The faster you can learn from them and keep working and get better, you'll be a really good player."'

Marker Kelsay gives it the old college try [5:08 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'No longer will the 2003 second-round draft choice be rotating starts with 2002 second-round draft choice Ryan Denney. "It was a situation where the coaches saw where I might have been a little more productive in certain areas and thought that I deserved the role and that's what I strive for," Kelsay said. "I didn't want to have anything handed to me. I wanted to earn it, and I think I did that."'

Marker Buffalo's defense deserves high billing [5:06 AM]
St. Louis Post Dispatch reports: '"They're like a chameleon," Martz said. "They can be blitzing the heck out of you and then all of a sudden stop. But their defensive front is formidable. ... Their front seven can play with anybody. You're not going to find one that's a whole lot better than this one."'

Marker Back on the Hot Seat [10:00 PM]
RNews.com reports: 'After silencing his critics by guiding the Buffalo Bills to three wins in four games, a poor performance on Sunday have fans once again calling for Drew Bledsoe to be benched in favor of rookie quarterback J.P. Losman. The 12 year veteran claims the criticism doesn't bother him.'

Marker Baker emerges as Bills starting free safety [5:31 PM]
AP reports: '''Just take a deep breath,'' Baker said of what he intends to remind himself before kickoff. ''You've got to calm yourself down, just relax and know that, hey, you can do it.'''

Marker Resilient Bills Not Giving Up [5:24 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"We've got to get back to doing what we do well," offensive tackle Jonas Jennings said. "We need to establish some type of run for us to even have the opportunity to open it up for the pass. It all comes back to execution and we need to execute better."'

Marker Moulds Not Sure What He'll Do At Seasons End [4:22 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Eric Moulds seems to be getting tired of losing and tired of the Bills offense going nowhere. On Thursday Moulds indicated that he has some thinking to do when the season is over.'

Marker Bills-Rams Officially Sold Out [2:33 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Tickets still remain for the Bills final two home games against the Cleveland Browns on December 12 and the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 2. Tickets for those two games are available in person at the Ralph Wilson Stadium ticket office, the Rochester office in Pittsford Plaza, and at all participating Tops Markets locations.'

Marker Just in time, Rams guard Nutten back to speed [2:31 PM]
AP reports: 'Martz said the free agent departure of LB London Fletcher for the Bills after the 2001 season was the worst loss he's had to absorb as head coach. "He's my kind of football player, he always has been," Martz said. "That one broke my heart. He was the heart and soul of our defense at that time."'

Marker Is JP Ready? Will Bills Win? [2:31 PM]
WOKR-TV reports: 'Bills 24 Rams 20.'

Marker Vincent feels helpless about Bills' woes [11:32 AM]
Tonawanda News reports: '"I came here to contribute, and I'm not contributing on the bench," Vincent said. "I can't help my football team, the players, outside of cheering and rooting them on. I'm not a cheerleader, I'm not a guy who's supposed to be holding your hat while you're out there playing. That's a part of the game, but that's not me."'

Marker Bills Begin Focus On Rams, Promote Baker [11:06 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Baker, an undrafted free agent from Tennessee, posted five tackles at New England and said he became more comfortable and confident with every series. "As the game went on, I got comfortable," said Baker. "I felt myself getting into position to make plays."'

Marker St. Louis Bills Backers Looking to Expand [11:05 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'But after a few weeks the members decided to search for a better gameday atmosphere, which they found at Ozzie's Restaurant and Sports Bar, named after "The Wizard of Oz" himself, Ozzie Smith. "It's a pretty nice place, it's centrally located near the I-270 around St. Louis," Weyman said. "Ozzie has his 13 gold glove awards sitting in the showcase."'

Marker Bills QBs turn their focus on Rams [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"If you're going to play in the NFL, particularly the position of quarterback, you've got to be strong," Bledsoe said. "You've got to be strong enough emotionally and physically and mentally to fight those battles when it's not going right. When everything's going right, it's fun and sometimes it seems kind of easy. But when it's not going right, that's when the test of your character individually and as a team comes into play."'

Marker Rams coach eyed Losman in draft [8:50 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We really liked him," Martz said in a conference call with Buffalo media. "He's very accurate. The things that we look at in a quarterback to draft, we ranked him very high in all areas. He's very accurate, he's very intelligent, very competitive. We loved his competitiveness. High energy, tough, intelligent."'

Marker Bledsoe era awaits final sack [7:41 AM]
New Bedford Standard Times reports: 'If you were drowning, would you want Drew Bledsoe to be the guy throwing the life preserver? Good luck. At this point of his professional football career, he'd be lucky to hit the water.'
