Marker Bills' Ryan loves that fans expect a lot [1:45 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Many players and coaches have talked about the difficulty of playing in Orchard Park with the rabid fans here. Ryan said that’s why they’re buying tickets in record numbers, “I’m excited about it because of the commitment from out fan base is tremendous and I get it, there’s a lot of good teams on our schedule that we’re playing here, but our fans aren’t coming to see the opponent, they’re coming to see the Buffalo Bills, they’re seeing their football team.” Ryan added, “When you come here, you aren’t just playing the Bills, you’re playing this entire fan base, you’re playing the community and was I excited about that? You’re darn right I was. Come on in here and get a piece of this.”'

Marker QBs take step forward on first day of minicamp [1:44 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Manuel worked mostly with the second-unit, but looked confident in the pocket and took chances. A couple of those chances resulted in big plays. However, he also short-armed a couple passes to the sideline, which has been a theme several times during these practices.'

Marker OT Henderson misses minicamp; OG Williams arrives [1:43 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Ryan, when asked for his reaction to Henderson missing due to travel issues said, “you always tell guys, especially when you’re coming up, heading north and all that type of stuff, always try to prepare a little bit. But I’ll talk to him about that.” Ryan went on to say he expects Henderson at practice tomorrow.'

Marker Bills Minicamp Observations, Day 1 [1:42 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'Of the three, Manuel had the strongest day, but all have a long way to go.'

Marker Minicamp notes: Day 1 [1:41 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Tyrod Taylor also delivered some good throws. His throwing motion looks very effortless as he can just flick the ball 40 yards downfield or from the far side hash to the sideline without much of a wind-up. His best work came during red zone work when he threw a pair of touchdowns on two consecutive snaps.'

Marker Bills sign DT Andre Fluellen [1:40 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'The 6-2, 280-pound Florida State product originally entered the league in 2008 as a third round pick (87th overall) of the Detroit Lions. Fluellen has spent the majority of his career with the Lions, with the exception of two games in 2012 with the Dolphins. The eight-year veteran has played in 77 career games totaling 65 tackles (39 solo), 4.5 sacks, 12 quarterback hits and 10 tackles for loss. Fluellen saw action in eight games for Detroit in 2014.'

Marker Former Bills player visits Wellsville United Way Golf Tourney [5:04 PM]
Wellsville Daily Reporter reports: '“I think we have a good group of guys incoming,” White said. “Rex Ryan, he’ll bring a different culture to the team as a high profile coach. We have all the pieces in place. I think the success of the team all lies in the hands of the developing quarterback. Whether it’s E.J. (Manuel), Matt (Cassel), or Tyrod Taylor.'

Marker Bills season-ticket sale breaks record [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Anyone looking to purchase tickets on an individual basis had better be prepared to shell out plenty of money in the secondary market. For instance, as of late Monday afternoon, tickets on StubHub! for the Sept. 13 season-opener against Indianapolis ranged from $120 for a seat in the upper deck to $526 for a sideline seat in the lower bowl.'

Marker Bills selling tickets like they did in Super Bowl years [1:58 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'That’s what makes this rush on tickets so remarkable. These next-generation Bills have not made the playoffs since 1999, a 15-year drought which is the longest active streak in the NFL, and more than double in length the previous drought for the Bills (1967-73).'

Marker Buffalo Bills announce record-breaking season-ticket sales for 2015 season [1:57 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'The NFL did away with its blackout policy for the 2015 season, but the Bills obviously aren't concerned about that. The Bills will have a limited amount of individual game tickets available to the general public in the coming months, but it's going to be tougher than usual to get into Ralph Wilson Stadium this season.

Marker History says Buffalo Bills can make playoffs despite quarterback situation [1:56 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'The teams that found a way to overcome poor quarterback play did so with strong defenses. The Bills could have the best defense in the NFL this season, so they check that box. It also helps that Buffalo has LeSean McCoy to lean on in the running game and a trio of weapons in the passing game with Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin and Charles Clay.'

Marker 'It's the fans' who gave Buffalo Bills' season-ticket record [1:55 AM]
Business First of Buffalo reports: '“I think it is a combination of everything, but the foundation of where we are today squarely is pointed at the Pegula’s buying the franchise,” Brandon said.'

Marker Cyrus Kouandjio impresses new coach Rex Ryan after lost rookie season [1:54 AM]
Birmingham News reports: '"I learned that you can't mistakes," Kouandjio said. "You've just got to work really hard in the NFL. In college, you could make a mistake here, make a mistake there. You're stronger, faster, smarter than the other guy. You can get away with it. But here, it's professionals. It takes a lot of work, and this is my job."'

Marker Bills set record with season ticket sales [1:53 AM]

Marker Bills set season-ticket sales record [1:52 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'The Bills plan to cap season tickets at 60,000 and institute a waiting list if demand exceeds that number. Individual tickets are sold out for all home games except Buffalo's regular-season finale against the Jets.'

Marker Brandon cites Pegula-Effect for season tix record [1:51 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“We thought we were going to get the record in 2008. We had 56,011 season tickets in 2008, and that was our goal that year. We fell a little bit short. We look back at the analysis over the last seventeen years (since Brandon joined the club in 1997), our average season tickets over that time frame has been 42,944.”'

Marker What Bills starting spots are locked down? [1:50 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Rex Ryan joked that the organization paid Clay so much money he calls him “Cassius Clay.” After the Dolphins placed the transition tag on Clay, giving them the right to match any free agent offers, the Bills signed him to a five year, $38 million offer sheet, and lured him away from South Florida. Ryan and offensive coordinator Greg Roman have made no secret that they want Clay to play all three downs, essentially not coming off the field when the team is on offense.'

Marker Bills eclipse record for season ticket sales [1:49 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'The Bills said they will cap the season ticket sales around 60,000 if they get to that level. At this point, seven of the eight games will have tickets that are very hard to come by if you are not a season ticket holder. Only the home contest with the New York Jets has a limited amount of individual tickets remaining.'

Marker Bills Positional Briefs: Safety [1:48 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'Graham gets the nod over Williams because of his playmaking ability, but there may not be a guaranteed starter all season. Expect Aaron Williams will be out there all the time (health permitting), but it'd also be fair to look for a healthy amount of switching things up from Rex Ryan with the safety position. All three will have a role.'

Marker Route running perfection the pursuit for Bills WRs [1:59 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“We look at route running like an art form, a lost art in this league,” said Lal. “We liken it to if you were trying out for ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Those guys work four, five, eight hours a day on footwork. We’re no different. We’re choreographers, dancers, whatever you want to call it, but there’s a choreography to route running.”'

Marker Bills’ offensive line centers on Wood [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I think it starts with intelligence, especially with offensive line,” Ryan said. “You have to be sharp and also” center is “part of a play-calling position. He can do that and obviously from a physical standpoint, you have to have a guy that can handle that type of heavy lifting. He’s really an ideal center.”'

Marker McCoy charity softball game a big hit [1:58 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Watching world-class athletes look ordinary had to make all the weekend warriors in the stands feel pretty good, but in the end, this was a night that served one purpose: For the Bills to put on a show, interact with their fans, and raise money for a great cause spearheaded by one of the newest members of the team.'

Marker Rex Ryan says Buffalo Bills will do 'due diligence' on free agent Evan Mathis, but he' [1:57 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'At this point, Ryan and the Bills seem happy with what they are getting out of Miller and Incognito. Their actions will tell the real story, though. Mathis was the top rated guard in the NFL by Pro Football Focus from 2011 to 2013, so he would be an enticing option for a team like Buffalo that wants to run the football often in 2015.'

Marker Rex Ryan cancels Buffalo Bills final practice of OTAs for trip to Airsoft range [1:56 AM]

BuffaloBills.com reports: 'This was expected to be a work in progress. With everyone learning a new scheme the players have been primarily focused on the execution of their individual assignments during the installation process. Working with three different quarterbacks, who are rotating time under center with the first unit, has also lengthened the time it might take for the receivers and tight ends to develop chemistry with any one of the signal callers.'

Marker Lack of cap puts a dent in spending [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Keep in mind, the Bills are planning to sign defensive tackle Marcell Dareus to a massive contract extension sometime soon, and would need to rework at least one other contract (probably the one belonging to end Mario Williams) to make that happen. More contract maneuvering and perhaps a big-money cut or two are expected to happen between now and the start of the season, but none figures to be done to make cap room for a guard where they are feeling they’ve made an upgrade with third-round draft pick John Miller and free-agent signee Richie Incognito.'

Marker Should Buffalo Bills make run at former Eagles guard Evan Mathis? [1:58 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'There's also the financial issue. Mathis was due to make $5.5 million this season, and while he may not be able to command that type of salary, he won't come cheap. According to Spotrac.com, the Bills have a little over $7 million in space for 2015, so they could make it work. However, if Mathis is hoping for a multi-year contract, things could get complicated. Buffalo has a lot of expiring contracts and can't afford to commit any more money to their 2016 salary cap than it already has. Does Mathis think the Bills are enough of a contender to take a one-year deal? Are the Bills willing to pay him enough to go for it in 2015?'
