Marker Bills release FB Centers, LB Robinson [10:05 PM]
Sportsticker reports: 'Centers, who turns 35 in June, had 43 catches for 388 yards last season for the Bills. But with Travis Henry and Sammy Morris showing pass-catching ability in the backfield, Centers became expendable. Robinson, who turns 33 in April, was third on the team with 102 tackles last season. But the offseason additions of outside linebackers Takeo Spikes and Jeff Posey squeezed out Robinson.'

Marker Player Bio: Larry Centers [5:12 PM] reports: Selected as a Pro Bowl alternate after a strong second season in Buffalo…continued to provide the voice of experience and strong leadership to Bills team.

Marker Player Bio: Eddie Robinson [5:12 PM] reports: Finished his first season with the Bills, (eleventh in NFL)…was third on the team, second among the linebackers with 102 tackles (71 solo)… signed by the Bills prior to the 2002 season on 4/18.

AP reports: 'Riemersma, in his seventh season, is second behind Pete Metzelaars as the Bills' most accomplished pass-catching tight end with 204 career receptions for 2,304 yards and 20 touchdowns.'

Marker Riemersma signs with Steelers [7:27 PM] reports: Jay Riemersma, who played for the Buffalo Bills for the last seven seasons, was in Pittsburgh visiting with coaches and team personnel on Wednesday and before he got a chance to walk out the door, he signed a contract.

Marker Bills Are Not a Player in Holliday Sweepstakes [7:26 PM] reports: According to Brian Levy, agent for defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday, the Bills are not a player in the Vonnie Holliday situation. "We have spoken, however, there is no interest in him at the numbers we are currently at with other teams," Levy said.

A two-time ECAC All-Star at Kutztown (PA) University, Reed realized during the first day of Buffalo’s training camp in 1985 that he had what it took to make the transition from Division II to the NFL.

Marker CB Irvin makes free agent visits Lions [8:56 PM] reports: Prior to joining the Saints in 2002, Irvin spent seven seasons in Buffalo, where he started 46 games from 1997 to 1999. He originally was a fourth-round pick of the Bills in the 1995 NFL Draft out of Memphis.

Marker Chris Brown: Bills Sign RFA Kicker to Offer Sheet [7:43 PM]
WGR reports: The offer sheet for Lindell is proof that the Bills were not going to pay top ten kicker money for Mike Hollis, who was looking for about $1.3 million a season. That's a 50 percent raise from last year's $650 thousand dollar salary.

Bills GM Tom Donahoe was apparently convinced that Hollis was going to stick to his guns on that figure in light of recent deals for John Hall (5 years $7.13M) and Chicago's Paul Edinger (5 years $7M) and decided to look elsewhere.

Sporting News reports: Dan Pompei throws an interesting jab at Buffalo : For Spikes, he no longer is encumbered by the history of losing and the humiliation of wearing stripes. When he signed with Buffalo, he said he wanted to smell the playoffs. He had to be reminded that it's about more than smelling playoffs in Buffalo (it's also about losing Super Bowls).

That's where I feel more comfortable, that's where I have the most experience. I am aware that we have a young group here to. That's a good thing, playing with a young group of guys.
